Summary

K-Culture Radar is a website you read: it has no accounts, no comments and no forms. We do not set cookies ourselves. The only data processed when you visit is the technical information needed to deliver pages securely, aggregate traffic measurement without cookies, and — where advertising is shown — the advertising cookies and identifiers that Google uses, which in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are only set after you give consent.

This policy explains each of those in turn. It applies to kcultureradar.com in every language. The publisher named at the end of this page is the data controller.

What is processed and why

Delivering the site. Pages are served through Cloudflare’s network. To deliver a page and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes the technical data your browser sends with every request: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. Cloudflare keeps this in short-lived logs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, fast website.

Measuring traffic. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people read which pages and how fast the site loads. It does not use cookies, does not store identifiers on your device, does not fingerprint your browser and does not follow you to other sites; we only ever see aggregate numbers. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Advertising. This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads, to measure them and — if you have consented — to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before any advertising cookie is set; you can accept, refuse or choose in detail, and you can change your choice at any time with the “Privacy settings” link in the footer. Elsewhere, you can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings and, for many other advertising companies, at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu. Legal basis: your consent where the law requires it; otherwise legitimate interest.

Embedded videos. Stories embed official videos through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). The video’s thumbnail image is loaded from YouTube’s image servers when the page loads; the player itself, and any data YouTube collects while you watch, only start when you press play. From that point Google’s privacy policy applies.

Writing to us. If you email us, we process your address and what you wrote in order to reply and to keep a record of corrections and rights requests. Legal basis: legitimate interest, or performance of a contract where you ask us for something.

Fonts and other resources. Fonts and page assets are served from our own site; reading a page does not send requests to font providers or other third parties beyond those named above.

Cookies

K-Culture Radar sets no cookies of its own. Third-party cookies come only from Google’s advertising services, as described above, and only after consent where consent is required. Your browser lets you view, block and delete cookies; blocking them does not affect reading the site.

Who receives data

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, security, analytics) processes request data on our behalf on its global network.
  • Google LLC (advertising, embedded YouTube videos) acts as an independent controller for the advertising data described above.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

International transfers

Cloudflare and Google operate worldwide, including in the United States. Where data leaves the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the transfer relies on the safeguards those companies provide, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Retention

Request logs are kept by Cloudflare for a short period and then deleted. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle the request and, for corrections and rights requests, as a record of what was changed. Advertising cookies expire according to the periods Google sets, which you can inspect in the consent dialog.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable form, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the EEA, your national data-protection authority; in the UK, the ICO; in Korea, the Personal Information Protection Commission). Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising through the consent controls and Google’s ad settings described above. To exercise any right, use the contact details at the end of this page. We reply as quickly as we can and within the time the law allows.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We update this policy when the site changes, for example when a new service is added. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes are announced on this page.
