Who is So Ji-sub?

So Ji-sub (소지섭) is an actor and the head of 51K, the agency he founded. The agency’s page opens with his birth date, 4 November 1977.

The credits it lists begin with SBS’s 유리구두 (Yurigudu) in 2002 and run to 2026: fourteen dramas, eleven films and one tvN programme from 2018. Among them are KBS2’s I’m Sorry, I Love You (2004), SBS’s Cain and Abel (2009), Phantom (2012) and Master’s Sun (2013), KBS’s Oh My Venus (2015–2016), MBC’s My Secret Terrius (2018) and Doctor Lawyer (2022). His previous work before 2026 was Netflix’s Mercy for None (2025).

Awards

The 51K page carries the Grand Prize at the 2018 MBC Drama Awards, the top excellence acting award at the 2015 KBS Drama Awards, the same award at the 2013 and 2012 SBS Drama Awards, best new actor at the 29th Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2008, and the top acting award at the 41st Baeksang Arts Awards in 2005.

Agent Kim Reactivated is a ten-episode SBS drama broadcast from 26 June to 25 July 2026, and on the agency’s own list it is his first SBS drama since 2013. The Korea Times described his character as a bank accounting manager who confronts a dangerous past to rescue his kidnapped teenage daughter. He told the same paper that “액션 그 자체보다 김부장의 사연과 슬픔이 훨씬 더 끌렸다” — the story and the sadness of Kim drew him far more than the action itself.

The series passed 20 per cent nationwide by its fourth episode, which The Korea Times reported as the second-highest figure for an SBS Friday–Saturday drama.

Agent Kim Reactivated had a week above ten million views in Netflix’s weekly figures: 10.5 million for 29 June to 5 July, when it went to number one on the non-English TV list, a place it kept for three weeks.
