Agent Kim Reactivated

What it is about

Agent Kim Reactivated (김부장) is a ten-episode SBS Friday–Saturday drama broadcast from 26 June to 25 July 2026. SBS announced it as a revenge action drama in which “the most ordinary father in the world” becomes “the most dangerous man in the world” to get his only daughter back.

So Ji-sub takes the title role; Nam Dae-jung wrote it and Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun directed. The Korea Herald introduced it as a live-action adaptation of the Naver webtoon of the same name.

What it did at home

The series passed 20 per cent nationwide by its fourth episode and set its own high of 23.1 per cent nationwide with the eighth. Yonhap News TV reported that as the second-highest figure for an SBS Friday–Saturday drama. The finale drew 23.0 per cent nationwide.

What it did abroad

It streamed on Netflix alongside the broadcast. SBS News reported on 22 July 2026 that the series had held first place in Netflix’s global Top 10 for non-English TV for three consecutive weeks, was first in 19 countries and in the top 10 in 73.

In Netflix’s weekly figures the three weeks at number one drew 10.5, 9.1 and 8.2 million views. Before them came a first week, 22 to 28 June, at third with 6.6 million; after them came 7.3 million (third), 5 million (third), 2.3 million (seventh) and 1.4 million (ninth), completing eight weeks and 50.4 million views.

A first in how it was made

The Korea Herald reported on 10 July 2026 that a three-minute action sequence in the first two episodes was generated entirely with AI by Morpheus Studio on its own platform, Acron — the first commercial use of AI-generated video in a Korean drama.
