What it is about
Our Sticky Love (이런 엿 같은 사랑, Ireon Yeot-gateun Sarang — literally “This Love Is Like Yeot”, 엿 being a sticky traditional taffy and also a slang expression) is a twelve-episode Netflix romantic comedy released in full on 7 August 2026. Go Eun-sae (Ha Young), a prosecutor in the anti-corruption division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, is caught in an accident while pursuing a crime organisation and wakes with no memory in a rural hospital in Yeot Village, Gujin-gun, a town of traditional taffy workshops; Jang Tae-ha (Jung Hae-in), a former youth boxer turned gang member who now coaches at a small-town gym, meets her — his first love — on his last job for the organisation and tells her he is her boyfriend. Heo Sung-tae plays the crime boss Baek Sang-gil. Kim Jang-han (Do You Like Brahms?, My Demon) directs from a script by Mo Ji-hye (You Raise Me Up), their first series together in four years; Netflix rates it 15+.
Why it broke out internationally
In its second week on the service (10 to 16 August 2026) the series was number one on Netflix’s global non-English TV Top 10 with 7.5 million views and 88 million hours viewed, after entering at number five the week before; it reached the top 10 in 68 countries and number one in 26, including South Korea, Brazil, Indonesia and Singapore.
