Spooky in Love

What it is about

Spooky in Love (오싹한 연애) is a twelve-episode tvN weekend drama that ran from 18 July to 23 August 2026. TVING’s own page for the series calls it an occult romance between an heiress who sees ghosts and the hot-blooded prosecutor who is more frightened of them than anyone.

Cheon Yeo-ri (Park Eun-bin) is a hotel-group heir who has lived her whole life with the dead in view; Ma Gang-wook (Yang Se-jong) is a Seoul prosecutor whose courage stops exactly where the supernatural begins, and Kang Min-hwan (Ong Seong-wu) is the heir to a rival hotel group. Lee Min-su directs. Herald Business describes the series as a transmedia remake of the 2011 film of the same Korean name, which drew about three million admissions.

What it did at home

The drama closed on its own best figure: Nielsen Korea put the finale at an average of 7.9 per cent nationwide with a peak of 9 per cent. Korean outlets reported that it had held first place in its time slot among cable and general-programming channels for six consecutive weeks.

What it did abroad

It ran in parallel on Netflix and stayed in the non-English TV top 10 for two weeks after the tvN broadcast ended. By Netflix’s weekly figures it entered at eighth with 1.7 million views in its premiere week, 13 to 19 July, spent two weeks at fifth on 4.2 and 3.6 million, and first reached third for 3 to 9 August with 3.3 million. Then came 2.7 million (third), 2.7 million (fourth), 2.3 million (third) and 1.0 million (tenth). The eight weeks total 21.5 million views.
