네게 닿을 때까지 (Falling)

The song

‘Falling’ (Korean title ‘네게 닿을 때까지’, which reads as until I reach you) is a single Jin released on 26 November 2024. The song is the fourth track of the mini album Happy, out eleven days earlier on 15 November, and the single is a new version sung with Taka, the lead singer of the Japanese band ONE OK ROCK. The album information page on Bugs prints the title as ‘네게 닿을 때까지 (feat. Taka)’.

The label prints the release as Falling in Apple Music’s own distribution metadata, with the artists given as Jin and Taka, and the US and Korean stores agree. The English-language press took the song up under that name.

Billboard reported on the day of release that Jin had put out the new version, and that the original was co-produced and co-written by Taka and ONE OK ROCK’s guitarist Toru. The same report quoted BIGHIT MUSIC saying that with Taka added the song lets a listener feel the emotions of love in a new and deeper way.

Reviews

No outlet reviewed the single on its own. Two took the song up inside their reviews of the parent album, Happy.

NME’s Rhian Daly set it beside ‘Heart on the Window’ in her review of 15 November 2024 and wrote of the first of the two: “The former — which features Japanese band ONE OK ROCK’s Taka and Toru — is a winsome, whistling piece of indie-rock that’s full of desire.”

Rolling Stone’s Maura Johnston wrote in her review of the same day that “the vocalist and guitarist of the J-alt-pop act ONE OK ROCK bolster ‘Falling,’ a stomping love song that opens up into a widescreen chorus”.

What came after

Jin’s next release after this single was his second mini album, Echo, on 16 May 2025. The solo release before Happy was The Astronaut of 28 October 2022.
