‘Rock Solid (Feat. Anderson .Paak)’ is the single Taeyong released on 17 April 2026. The album information page lists the artists as Taeyong and Anderson .Paak, in that order. The first full-length album WYLD followed a month later, on 18 May.

The album introduction on Bugs describes the song as hip-hop built around drums with an unusual rhythm and a repeating chant, with Taeyong’s vocal and rap adding force across it. By the same text, Anderson .Paak’s feature lifts the mood with a dynamic flow and his own sense of groove, and the lyrics carry the will to hold on to what has been built and the confidence to keep proving himself.

Reviews

Idology (아이돌로지) ran the song in ‘Weekly’, its column on the records of the third week of April 2026. Quibi wrote: “Over Dem Jointz’s clattering beat, Taeyong bounds about in high spirits, keeping step with the calls of that skilful entertainer Anderson .Paak.” He added that with the director Song Seo-yoon on the video there is nothing left to want, and called the release “a song and a music video where the steady harmony of four players stands out, rough and yet trim, seemingly precarious and yet not a hair out of place”. He closed: “It is a welcome opening shot, exactly right for announcing the return of the head of Neo.”

Kim Ho-hyeon of IZM took the song’s build apart piece by piece in his single review of 1 May 2026. He wrote that “the song’s frame is simple. An appealing bass riff, an unusual drum pattern and a chant repeating the song’s title, ‘Rock solid’, run through it again and again”, and that “over this, backward-looking imagery and the singer’s distinctive rap put the full stop on the track”. Rather than drawing a musical narrative, he wrote, it works at catching the momentary impression that makes an ear turn. Of the feature he wrote: “Anderson .Paak’s guest turn adds a loose groove to an atmosphere that might otherwise feel wound too tight, and so strikes a balance of tension and release.” He ended: “What does stay clear is the attitude Taeyong has come back with.”

Around it

The Bugs album introduction states that Taeyong filled the set list of his first solo concert, ‘TY TRACK’, in 2024 with songs he had worked on himself, and that the ‘TY TRACK – REMASTERED’ tour of January 2026 took him to Seoul, Jakarta, Yokohama, Macau, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. The music video went up on the official SMTOWN channel on the day of release.
