Kim Hye-soo (김혜수) debuted in a commercial in 1985. Cine21’s person database records that she became known as a teen star and made her film debut in Lee Hwang-lim’s Kam-Bo in 1986, and lists forty films for her.

In 2026 she played the influencer Kyung-hee in the Coupang Play series The Affair Was Just The Beginning, released from 31 July. Coupang’s press release from the production conference quoted her saying she wanted to take it on because “회차를 거듭할수록 허를 찌르는 재미와 예상하지 못한 결말이 흥미로워 도전하고 싶었다” — each episode wrong-footed her, and the ending she did not see coming was what interested her.
The series held first place among Coupang Play’s most-watched titles for three consecutive weeks, and its final episode went up at 8 p.m. on 4 September. In that release Coupang noted that this was the first drama Kim Hye-soo and Cho Yeo-jeong had appeared in together in 23 years, since Jang Hui-bin.
