Who is Woo Do-hwan?

Woo Do-hwan (우도환) is an actor signed to Blitzway Entertainment. The agency’s artist page names MBN’s 왔어 왔어 제대로 왔어 (Wasseo Wasseo Jedaero Wasseo, 2011) as his debut. Newspim reported on 22 July 2026 that he had renewed with the same agency.

The representative works on that page are the films Master, The Divine Fury, The Divine Move 2: The Wrathful and Tempered Nights, and the series Save Me (OCN), Mad Dog (KBS2), Tempted (MBC), My Country: The New Age (JTBC), The King: Eternal Monarch (SBS), Joseon Attorney (MBC), Mr. Plankton (Netflix) and Made in Korea (Disney+).

In a December 2017 interview with Aju Business Daily, he named the moment that made him want to act: watching Jang Hyuk receive the grand prize for The Slave Hunters seven years earlier. “Watching him, I wanted to become an actor,” he said. That year he played Seok Dong-cheol in Save Me and Kim Min-jun in Mad Dog.

Awards

The agency’s page lists best new actor at the 2017 KBS Drama Awards, the top excellence award for a man in the miniseries section of the 2023 MBC Drama Awards, and a special acting award in the OTT section of the 46th Golden Cinematography Awards in 2026.

After the new-actor award he took his first romantic lead as Kwon Si-hyeon in MBC’s Tempted, which premiered on 12 March 2018. On 6 July 2020 he enlisted, as his then agency, KeyEast, had announced, and served in the army on active duty. Accepting the top excellence award for Joseon Attorney on 30 December 2023, he said: “What I’ve felt doing this job is that keeping something is harder than achieving it. I’ll take this as an award for having kept Joseon Attorney well.”

In October 2026 he received the Beyond Cinema award at the 2026 Marie Claire Asia Star Awards in Busan. TenAsia noted that the category was created in 2022 to reflect media platforms that had changed and widened, and he said it had been “a set that made me want to work with the belief that the process matters more than the result”. Earlier, on 6 October, he walked the opening-ceremony red carpet of the 31st Busan International Film Festival.

Since 2024

In Netflix’s Mr. Plankton (directed by Hong Jong-chan, written by Jo Yong) in November 2024, he played Hae-jo, a man who believes he was born by mistake. “I think it’s true I chose this work because it was difficult,” he told Money Today. “I liked that it didn’t make light of a terminal diagnosis.” It was, he added, “the warmest drama I’ve done.” On 9 August 2025 he held the fan meeting ‘Woonder Night’ at Vibra São Paulo in Brazil; Billboard Brasil reported that it was his first visit to the country.

He returned as the boxer Gun-woo in Netflix’s Bloodhounds Season 2, released on 3 April 2026. Hankook Ilbo described it as a return three years after the first season and named Lee Sang-yi as Woo-jin and Jung Ji-hoon as Baek-jeong. He told Newsis that the month he had to prepare for season one became four months this time: “In the morning I trained at an action school, at lunch I went to the gym, and in the evening I ran.” He did the rough action scenes without a double and said “the appeal of action is that the result comes out right there on set”. When he worried whether he could play someone so plainly good, director Kim Joo-hwan told him: “There is definitely a Gun-woo in you too.”

The season that brought Gun-woo back went to number one on Netflix’s non-English TV list in its second week, with 7.4 million views by Netflix’s weekly figures. Its record, including the week season one returned to the list beside it, is on the Bloodhounds Season 2 page.

In Disney+’s Made in Korea he plays Baek Ki-hyun, the younger brother of Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin) and an officer from the Korea Military Academy. The six episodes of season one were released from 24 December 2025 to 14 January 2026, and the six of season two two at a time each Wednesday from 9 September 2026. Of Baek Ki-hyun, now a lieutenant colonel in the Defense Security Command in season two, he told MTN: “The director advised me that he should feel weighty and full of torment. He especially said he wanted him to be a Hamlet.” His goal now, he said, “is to meet a work that goes beyond Bloodhounds”.

Tempered Nights, the film on his agency’s list, is a hard-boiled action film by director Kim Pan-su about 24 hours of people trying to survive in Bangkok. Woo Do-hwan, Jang Dong-gun and Lee Hye-ri lead it, and it was shot entirely on location in Thailand in early 2024. As of October 2026 it is awaiting release.
