Bloodhounds Season 2 Hit No. 1 — and Season 1 Rose With It

What happened

Netflix’s Bloodhounds Season 2 was released on 3 April 2026. Joynews24 reported on 15 April that it drew 7.4 million views between 5 and 12 April, took first place in Netflix’s global top 10 for non-English television and entered the top 10 in 80 countries. The same report said the first season, released in 2023, was third that week on 3.0 million views.

Netflix’s own weekly data carries Bloodhounds Season 2 in that category for five weeks: second in the week of 5 April, first on 12 April, third on 19 April, sixth on 26 April and ninth on 3 May. The weekly views run 5.0 million, 7.4 million, 3.7 million, 2.2 million and 1.5 million, and 19.8 million across the five. The week the second season was first is the week the first season was third.

• In Netflix’s weekly data the first season charted for three weeks in April 2026, at eighth, third and seventh, on 1.2 million, 3.0 million and 2.0 million views. The cumulative-weeks column marks the first season in the week of 19 April as its eighth. The five before that fall in June and July 2023, and the week of 18 June was first on 8.1 million views.
• Hankook Ilbo reported on 31 March 2026 that the season arrived three years after the first. The same report named Kim Joo-hwan as director, with Woo Do-hwan as Gun-woo, Lee Sang-yi as Woo-jin and Jung Ji-hoon as Baek-jeong.
• Netflix’s own newsroom credits Kim Joo-hwan with both the writing and the direction, Studio N as producer and Ghost Studio and Seven O Six as co-producers. The source is Jeong Chan’s Naver Webtoon series Bloodhounds.
• At the production presentation Kim Joo-hwan said the season “follows the two protagonists as they encounter a new antagonist and engage in an even more intense, ferocious battle.” Hankook Ilbo carried the remark on 31 March.
• The Korea Times published an interview with Woo Do-hwan on 9 April 2026. He said of the work the season asked for: “Unlike other dramas, this one demands everything — body and soul — leaving no room for anything else.”
