Who Hearts2Hearts are
Hearts2Hearts (하츠투하츠) is an eight-member girl group signed to SM Entertainment. On 5 February 2025 the agency introduced the members in this order — Jiwoo, Carmen, Yuha, Stella, Juun, A-na, Ian and Ye-on — and named Jiwoo as the leader. The name stands for connecting hearts with fans around the world through music and moving forward together as a bigger “us”.
On debut day JTBC described the group as the first girl group SM Entertainment had launched in five years, since aespa, and the newcomers the company presented in its 30th-anniversary year. At the media showcase at YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on 24 February 2025, the stage and music video for the first single The Chase were shown for the first time; the single carried two songs, the title track ‘The Chase’ and ‘Butterflies’. At the debut fan showcase that evening the group announced its official fandom name, S2U. MK Sports reported the members’ explanation: the heart shape “S2” in the middle of Hearts2Hearts, with a “U” added.
The first year
The first music-show win came 15 days after debut. According to Sports Chosun, Hearts2Hearts took first place with ‘The Chase’ on SBS M’s The Show on 11 March 2025, and the members said, “We had dreamed of the moment of winning first place on a music show since before our debut, and we are really happy to have won with our debut song.” The single STYLE followed on 18 June and the first mini album FOCUS on 20 October; Ilgan Sports reported that FOCUS reached number one on Japan’s Oricon daily album chart.
Rookie awards followed at the end of the year. At the 2025 MAMA AWARDS at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on 28 November the group received Best New Artist and Fans’ Choice (Ten Asia), and at MMA2025 at Gocheok Sky Dome on 20 December it received New Artist of the Year (MBC Entertainment). At the 40th Golden Disc Awards at Taipei Dome on 10 January 2026 it received the popularity award (Asia Economy). On 16 February 2026 Ilgan Sports counted nine rookie awards by that point.
2026
The single RUDE! came out on 20 February 2026, and its stage was first performed at the group’s first solo fan meeting, ‘HEARTS 2 HOUSE’, held in Seoul on 21–22 February (Sports Seoul). ‘RUDE!’ gave the group its first win of the year on Mnet’s M Countdown on 5 March and its first terrestrial-TV win on MBC’s Show! Music Core on 14 March. On 23 March Star News reported that the song had taken five music-show wins, SBS’s Inkigayo included. According to the same article, the group held showcases in New York on 19 March and Los Angeles on 22 March, and on 23 March performed at the Grammy Museum’s ‘Global Spin Live’ in LA.
At the 3rd Asia Star Entertainer Awards at Belluna Dome in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, on 17 May, the group received two trophies: THE PLATINUM, a main prize, and THE BEST GROUP (FEMALE). Newsen ran written interviews with all eight members after the ceremony, and the same article noted that the ‘RUDE!’ music video and the song’s cumulative Spotify streams had each passed 100 million.
The second mini album Lemon Tang followed on 22 June. OSEN reported first-week sales of 592,312 copies on the Hanteo Chart, the group’s highest to date, and Edaily reported that it topped Circle Chart’s weekly retail album chart and became the group’s first half-million seller. On 12 August the group made its official Japanese debut with its first Japanese single, ICONIC HEART; Ten Asia reported that it reached number two on Oricon’s weekly single chart and combined single chart and on Billboard Japan’s Hot 100. On 9 September came Moonride, a single made in collaboration with Kia’s RV Black Edition.
The members’ own work continued alongside. A-na hosted MBC’s Show! Music Core for a year and two months from just after the debut, Yuha and Ye-on sang for the 2026 animated feature 사랑의 하츄핑: 고래보석의 전설 (Sarang-ui Hachyuping: Gorae Boseok-ui Jeonseol), and Carmen was often invited to occasions that linked Indonesia and Korea.
