Who are Red Velvet?
Red Velvet (레드벨벳) are a five-member girl group from SM Entertainment: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy and Yeri. They debuted on 1 August 2014 with “Happiness”, performed on KBS’s Music Bank, as a four-member group of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy; Yeri joined later to complete the current lineup. Their fandom is called ReVeluv. In 2025 Wendy and Yeri ended their exclusive contracts with SM Entertainment and signed with other agencies, and the five-track mini album Velvet Summer, released on 3 August 2026 with the title track “Surfin’ Boy”, was the group’s first full-group release since the tenth-anniversary mini album Cosmic in June 2024.
Where to start
The official music videos, including “Surfin’ Boy”, are published on SM Entertainment’s SMTOWN YouTube channel, and Red Velvet’s own channel lists performance and choreography clips alongside its “Red Velvet Originals” series. K-Culture Radar links to official uploads rather than rehosting them, so those two channels and Korean music-show stages are the place to watch.
