What happened

Pledis Entertainment said on 13 July 2026 that all thirteen members of SEVENTEEN had renewed their contracts. According to Star News, every member except those currently serving in the military has signed, and the members fulfilling their service will sign in turn as their service allows.

It is the second renewal. The same outlet noted that SEVENTEEN completed its first renewal in 2021 before the term ran out, and that the group has kept all thirteen members since debuting in 2015.

The news was first given from a stage. The Korea Herald reported that the leader, S.Coups, revealed the renewal at the final encore of the New_ world tour in April 2026. The same outlet wrote that a whole group renewing together for a second time is a first in K-pop.

The sentences the agency and the members issued were about a promise rather than terms. According to Etoday, SEVENTEEN asked fans to “join us, as members of ‘TEAM SVT’ too, in our promise to take on forever”.

Pledis said it would act as a supporter and a partner so that each member’s own character and ability come through further and the group’s energy reaches further, the same outlet reported. The Korea Herald wrote that SEVENTEEN was the first act in K-pop to pass five million copies in first-week sales.
