YG Entertainment's official discography introduced it as a record holding the trail of the past year and a widened musical spectrum.

The record

BIGBANG (Special Edition) was released on 8 April 2011. The new songs ‘Love Song’ and ‘Stupid Liar’ lead it, and the ten-track running order gathers the Tonight mini album with the G-Dragon and T.O.P unit’s ‘High High’, Taeyang’s ‘I Need A Girl’ and Daesung’s ‘Baby Don’t Cry’.

YG Entertainment’s album introduction presents it as a record collecting a year of work and the wider range the group had covered in it.
