Who is Kun?
Kun is the leader of WayV (웨이션브이). The Korea Herald described him that way in a report of 4 June 2024, and the group debuted under LABEL V on 17 January 2019. SM Entertainment named him among the members in the press release that announced the group on 31 December 2018.
His stage record starts before the group’s debut. Sports Donga reported on 11 April 2016 that two days earlier, at the Yinyue Fengyunbang awards ceremony in Shenzhen, China, he had sung the Chinese version of ‘WITHOUT YOU’ with Taeil, Jaehyun and Doyoung.
Kun the producer
In an interview published on 27 February 2024, Arena Homme+ printed the songs he chose as his own. Kun said he first dreamed of becoming a singer because of Jay Chou. Of ‘Rain Day’, the NCT LAB song he sang with Taeil and Yangyang on 19 July 2022, he said: “It’s the first song I worked on as a producer.” Newsis wrote that he handled its production, lyrics, composition and arrangement himself.
On 15 November 2023 the music video for ‘Phantom (KUN Remix)’, his own remix, came out as part of NCT LAB. The original is the title track of the fourth mini album Phantom. Newsis reported that the remix adds taiko drums, kkwaenggwari and pipa to the grand strings of the original. Looking back in the Arena interview, Kun said he first performed it at the NCT Nation concert and that both the fans and the company responded well.
On the group’s albums, and on television
At the showcase for the fifth mini album Give Me That on 3 June 2024, he said it was his first time working with the songwriter Kenzie: “The song was so good that I thought a lot about how to bring it out even better.” Newsen reported on 10 July 2025 that he wrote lyrics for ‘Your Song (你的歌)’ on the seventh mini album BIG BANDS.
On television, he was the special MC of Weekly Idol’s WayV episode, broadcast on 11 January 2023. iMBC Entertainment reported that he had written down hosting alongside Eunhyuk and Kwanghee as his wish.
A first solo EP
On 18 July 2026 he released his first solo EP, FEEL&TALK. It carries three tracks, and the album notes say he took part in the lyrics, composition, arrangement and production of every one. Two years earlier Arena had asked what genre a solo album of songs he arranged himself would be, and he answered: “I think it would be an R&B album that people could listen to comfortably on the subway or the bus.” The album notes describe the title track ‘Feel Love and Talk’ as built on disco pop.
