The song

‘Still With You’ is a song Jung Kook released on 5 June 2020. It first appeared not on music services but on SoundCloud, as a free track. Soompi reported that it came out as part of 2020 BTS Festa, the celebration of BTS’s debut anniversary, and that Jung Kook co-produced it with Pdogg. Bugs credits the lyrics and music to the same two people.

TenAsia described it on 4 July 2023 as a song Jung Kook put out on SoundCloud ahead of the seventh anniversary of the BTS debut. The same article says it is built on a jazz-style melody and that its lyrics hold a longing for fans the singer could not meet in person during the pandemic. The song has no album introduction from the label: its album pages on Bugs and Melon leave that field empty.

Onto music services

For three years the song lived only on SoundCloud. According to TenAsia, in early July 2023, ahead of a first solo single, Jung Kook released ‘Still With You’ and ‘My You’, both first issued as free tracks, on music platforms. The same outlet reported that as of 9 a.m. on 4 July ‘Still With You’ was number one on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 83 countries and regions. Ten days later, on 14 July, came Jung Kook’s first solo single, ‘Seven (feat. Latto)’. That single’s album introduction, too, notes that Jung Kook had released solo songs such as ‘Still With You’ and ‘My You’ as free tracks.

Numbers

All of the song’s chart history dates from July 2023, after the official release. It is not on Circle Chart’s digital chart for its release weeks in 2020. Circle Chart first counted it at 32nd on the digital chart for week 27 of 2023 (2 to 8 July), and it peaked at 27th in week 33 (13 to 19 August). It stayed in the top 200 for 32 weeks. On Billboard’s chart dated 15 July 2023 it was 62nd on the Global 200 and 33rd on the Global Excl. U.S.

After it

Six years on, in July 2026, a video of Minami of RESCENE covering the song was released, and Jung Kook shared it in an Instagram story. The background of the cover, Jung Kook’s share and what Minami later said about that day are set out in the story on it.
