Shuhua (슈화) is a member of i-dle, the CUBE Entertainment group she debuted with on 2 May 2018 as (G)I-DLE. In Taiwan, where she is from, she has since become a tourism ambassador for Taoyuan and taken her first leading film role.
Shuhua (슈화) is a member of i-dle, the five-member CUBE Entertainment group. She debuted with them on 2 May 2018 with the first mini album I am and its title track ‘LATATA’, under the name the group carried then, (G)I-DLE. The group’s Japanese official profile gives her birth date as 6 January 2000.
She is from Taoyuan in Taiwan. iMBC called Taoyuan her home town in a report of 13 October 2025, and quoted her saying that she had grown up there since childhood.
She was appointed a tourism ambassador for the city of Taoyuan in 2025, and spent two days filming tourism spots around it with a Korean crew — Daxi Old Street, the Xiao Wulai sky rope bridge and the Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center among them. “Being named a tourism ambassador for Taoyuan, my home town, makes me really happy, and I’m honoured,” she said. “It’s a plain, warm-hearted place with clean air and quiet, and I’d love for a lot of people to visit Taoyuan, and Fuxing.”
On 26 March 2026 CUBE Entertainment announced that Shuhua had been cast as the lead in the Taiwanese film 幸福快樂的日子 (Xingfu Kuaile de Rizi), a title that reads as “happy, joyful days”. Mediapen reported that her part is the younger sister of the family, 林家琪 (Lin Jia-qi), and that the director is 阮鳳儀 (Fiona Roan), whose first feature American Girl (美國女孩) won her best new director at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards. It is Shuhua’s first leading role in a film.
The Taiwanese outlet udn reported on 21 July 2026 that the film had been selected for the Special Presentations programme of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival. “I couldn’t believe it when I heard,” Shuhua said in that report. “To go to an international stage with a team this good, on a first piece of work, is a great honour.” The same report says the film is due to open in Taiwan in 2027.

i-dle are a five-member CUBE Entertainment girl group: Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua. They debuted on 2 May 2018 under the name (G)I-DLE, changed it to i-dle on their seventh anniversary in May 2025, and released their ninth mini album We made in July 2026.
