Soyeon (소연) is the leader of i-dle, the five-member CUBE Entertainment group. She debuted with them on 2 May 2018 with the first mini album I am and its title track ‘LATATA’, under the name the group carried then, (G)I-DLE. The group’s Japanese official profile gives her birth date as 26 August 1998.
Herald Muse, writing in August 2026, called her i-dle’s leader and the self-producing artist behind ‘TOMBOY’, ‘Nxde’, ‘퀸카 (Queencard)’ and ‘나는 아픈 건 딱 질색이니까 (Fate)’. The same report notes that she became a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association in 2024, and that she worked on i-dle’s January 2026 digital single ‘Mono (Feat. skaiwater)’ under her producer name, icebluerabbit.
Her solo mini album Windy came out in July 2021, and her first full-length album, 끝내주는 인생 (Kkeutnaejuneun Insaeng) — the title reads as “a terrific life” — at 6 p.m. KST on 7 September 2026. Tenasia reported that it was her first solo release in about five years and two months, and that it carries eight tracks including the title song ‘퇴사할게여’ (Toesahalgeyeo), which reads as “I’ll quit my job”, the ending softened into a joke.
Sports Kyunghyang reported that the intro film released on 26 August 2026 ran through her first birthday party, her trainee years, her appearance on Mnet’s Produce 101, i-dle’s debut and her producing, up to the present and the album she was preparing. In it Soyeon said of the album, “Honestly, I think I put this off for quite a long time.”

i-dle are a five-member CUBE Entertainment girl group: Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua. They debuted on 2 May 2018 under the name (G)I-DLE, changed it to i-dle on their seventh anniversary in May 2025, and released their ninth mini album We made in July 2026.
