The record

한도초과 (HANDO-CHOGUA) is a single Daesung released on 10 December 2025 with three songs; the words mean over the limit, the phrase Korean uses when a spending ceiling has been passed. The title track gives the record its name. The album introduction on Bugs places it as his third trot song, after ‘Look At Me, Gwisun’ and ‘A Big Hit’, and states that Kush and G-Dragon, who worked on those two, took part again. ize reports that G-Dragon handed him another trot song sixteen years on, and that this time Daesung took part in the melody and the lyrics himself.

Reviews

Han Su-jin reviewed the song for ize (아이즈) the day after release. She calls it a trot song that is at once conventional and clever, carrying the fullness of being in love in a way that stays cheerful. On the arrangement she wrote that the rap in the middle adds to the song’s pace and its fun, and pulls the tension of the track up a notch. Of the singing she wrote that his vocal here is more idiomatic than on the earlier trot songs and has more force behind it, and that the heavy attack and the mischievous swing of the early trot records are still there — only that this time the energy is packed more densely and lands exactly on each beat.

The third trot song

The same piece sets the song beside the two that came before it. Han writes that ‘Look At Me, Gwisun’ (2008), made half in jest with G-Dragon out of an episode on a variety show during the BIGBANG years, was the first of them, and that the response was good enough that G-Dragon gave him ‘A Big Hit’ the following year. Daesung, she writes, took a direct approach to a genre where none was expected and opened a new line of idols who sing trot. Of this single she writes that the trot world the two of them started as a joke has come back, long afterwards, as a real widening of the genre.
