Daesung대성대성
Daesung is a vocalist of BIGBANG, managed by R&D Company. He has sung trot since 'Look At Me, Gwisun' in 2008, released his first solo mini album D's WAVE and toured Asia in 2025, and hosts the YouTube show ZIP Daesung.
Daesung is a vocalist of BIGBANG. He is managed by R&D Company, an artist production management firm founded in 2021, which runs his music and live work through an organisation called D-LABLE. In his debut year his solo song ‘웃어본다’ appeared on the November 2006 single Bigbang 03.
His first solo digital single was ‘Look At Me, Gwisun’, released on 16 June 2008. It was the first trot song his label YG had released, and the second solo release by a BIGBANG member, after Taeyang’s. ‘A Big Hit’ followed the next January as his second trot song. His third, ‘Hando-Chogua’ (10 December 2025), was written by G-Dragon and KUSH, with Daesung taking part in the melody and lyrics. IZE’s Han Su-jin wrote that he “has shown an unexpectedly straightforward approach to trot and opened a new line: the idol who sings trot”.
‘Falling Slowly’ (5 March 2024) was introduced as his first official single as a solo artist. His first domestic solo mini album, D’s WAVE, followed with eight tracks on 8 April 2025, led by ‘Universe’. Newsis reported that the record was two years in the making and that Daesung is credited on five of the eight songs. IZE’s Kim Seong-dae wrote: “This unified energy comes from Daesung taking on the producer’s role too.”
The Asia tour of the same name opened at Olympic Hall in Seoul in April 2025 and visited eleven cities. The Seoul encore at the Handball Arena in January 2026 sold out on the first day of booking, and the tour ended in Osaka on 1 February. On that last stage he promised to “catch my breath for a while, then greet you again in a way worthy of 大, ‘great’, and 聲, ‘voice’” — the two characters of his name. At BIGBANG’s Coachella set in April 2026 Daesung sang ‘Hando-Chogua’ and ‘Look At Me, Gwisun’ with a live band, with only the Korean lyrics on the screens. His agency told The Korea Herald that he had wanted to show the Korean lyrics visually on stage. The set is covered in the Coachella story.
Daesung hosts the YouTube show 집대성 (ZIP Daesung). The channel describes it as a homebody’s outings outside the house, and new episodes go up on Fridays at 6pm KST. World tour XX : COSMOS opens at Goyang Stadium
A three-night run from 21 to 23 August opened a tour billed as 33 shows in 19 cities across Asia, North America, Europe and Oceania, running to February 2027. All three Goyang dates sold out.
