The song
‘HOME SWEET HOME’ is a single G-Dragon released on 22 November 2024, featuring Taeyang and Daesung. The Korea Times reported that it was the first track the three had made together since BIGBANG’s ‘Still Life’ of April 2022, and that they performed it together at the 2024 MAMA Awards that same month.
The song was carried again three months later as the opening track of the album Übermensch, out on 25 February 2025. The official audio went up on G-Dragon’s own channel on the day of release. No review takes the song on its own: the three below all name it inside their reviews of the album.
Reviews
IZM’s Son Min-hyun, reviewing the album on 11 March 2025, picked the song as one of the places where the record sits most naturally. “More than the new ventures,” he wrote, “it is ‘Home sweet home’, where Taeyang and Daesung inject the familiar nostalgia of the old days, or ‘Gyro-drop’, which hands its chorus to an outsider, that come more naturally.” In the tracklist at the foot of the same piece, this song is one of the two he marked as recommended.
NME’s Rhian Daly, reviewing the album on 26 February 2025, wrote of the song that G-Dragon’s BIGBANG bandmate Taeyang declares the golden days are still alive there, refusing to submit to the idea of being past their prime. She read it, with ‘POWER’, as carrying the record’s theme of presenting a stronger and more resilient version of oneself.
Billboard placed the album at number 20 in The 25 Best K-Pop Albums of 2025 on 18 December 2025. Jeff Benjamin, who signed the entry, wrote that this song, ‘POWER’ and ‘IBELONGIIU’ deliver on G-Dragon’s playful power-pop sound.
Numbers
Circle Chart placed the song at number 20 on its Digital Chart for week 47 of 2024 (17 to 23 November), the week of release. It rose to number two in week 48 (24 to 30 November) and to number one in week 49 (1 to 7 December).
It returned to the chart when the album carrying it came out: number three in week nine of 2025 (23 February to 1 March), number three again in week 10 and number four in week 11.
