The song

‘TOO BAD’ is the title track of G-Dragon’s third full-length album Übermensch, and the American musician Anderson .Paak features on it. The eight-track album was released on 25 February 2025 through Galaxy Corporation, and the song’s official video went up on his channel the same day. On the label’s own track order it is the third song.

Reviews

Lee Deok-haeng of ize (아이즈) reviewed the album on the day it came out. He wrote that the song’s beat is the thing that stands out, and that it gets a listener moving from the first bar. Setting it against the two pre-release songs that open the album, he noted that the share of English in the lyrics is very high and that Anderson .Paak takes more of the vocal than one might expect. On the production he wrote that the sound picks up the trends of the Billboard charts to the right degree, and that the atmosphere particular to G-Dragon is unchanged for it. Of the video he wrote that the performance still has its groove inside its looseness, and that the pairing with Anderson .Paak leaves an impression.

NME’s Rhian Daly, writing the day after release, used the song as her example of where the album leans. She wrote that here G-Dragon “leans more into an upbeat pop pocket”, on “the instantly infectious, funk-laced Anderson .Paak collaboration ‘Too Bad’”.

Billboard put the album on “The 25 Best K-Pop Albums of 2025: Staff Picks” on 18 December 2025. The entry, signed by Jeff Benjamin, reads that “the Dianne Warren-assisted ‘Drama’, ‘Take Me’, ‘Gyro-Drop’ and ‘Too Bad’, featuring Anderson .Paak, all have a more mature, timeless feel, rounding out a true career milestone project”.

Numbers

ize wrote in the same piece that the song reached the top of the Melon chart an hour after release. The same piece notes that Karina of aespa appears in the later part of the music video.
