The song
‘Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)’ is a single Lisa released in October 2024 through LLOUD and RCA Records. It was carried again as the eighth track of her first album, Alter Ego, the following February. Newsis reported that the song samples ‘Kiss Me’, the 1990s hit by the American pop-rock band Sixpence None the Richer, and that Lisa’s dreamlike vocal and rap lines read it anew. By the same report the song had already been performed at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York before its release. No official music video for the song could be found on the official channel, so this page carries no video.
Reviews
Reviewing Alter Ego for Rolling Stone, Maura Johnston singled the song out. It “takes the chorus of Sixpence None the Richer’s wide-eyed ‘Kiss Me’ and runs it through a 2020s discopop filter, giving a cushion upon which Lisa can fall hard for a ‘green-eyed French boy’”, she wrote. The same review places the track among the album’s changes of pace, and reads the record as working best when Lisa’s singing takes the centre.
Around it
The single was the third song Lisa released in 2024, after Rockstar and New Woman. All three came out on their own before the album and were then carried on Alter Ego in February 2025, a record built around several personas Lisa wrote, each with a name of its own attached to a song.
