Who is Lisa
Lisa (리사) is a member of BLACKPINK, which debuted on 8 August 2016 with the single album SQUARE ONE. The Nation and the Bangkok Post both report that she was born in Buri Ram, Thailand. According to The Nation, she sang in contests from an early age and danced with the eleven-member crew We Zaa Cool before becoming a YG Entertainment trainee through a 2010 audition that drew 4,000 applicants.
From LALISA to LLOUD
Her first solo single album, LALISA, was released on 10 September 2021 with two tracks, ‘LALISA’ and ‘MONEY’. YG Entertainment’s album notes said she had given her own name to both the album and its title track.
In April 2024 Soompi reported that LLOUD — the management company she founded that February — had signed her to RCA Records for her solo work, while her BLACKPINK activities remained with YG Entertainment. Her first song through LLOUD was ‘Rockstar’ on 27 June 2024, and NME reported that one of Bangkok’s busy streets was closed off to shoot its music video. ‘New Woman’ with Rosalía followed on 15 August, and ‘Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)’ in October.
ALTER EGO and a first acting role
Her first solo full-length album, ALTER EGO, was released on 28 February 2025 with the title track ‘FUTW’, and entered the Billboard 200 at number seven and the Top Album Sales chart at number one. ‘Born Again’, released three weeks earlier with Doja Cat and RAYE, opens the album. The same year she made her acting debut in the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, as Mook, a wellness mentor at a Thai resort, and in April she gave a solo performance at Coachella.
The Korea Herald reported that Lisa has won Best K-pop at the MTV Video Music Awards three times: with ‘LALISA’ in 2022, ‘Rockstar’ in 2024 and ‘Born Again’ in 2025.
An ambassadorship and a World Cup opening
In October 2025 the Tourism Authority of Thailand named her Amazing Thailand Ambassador for twelve months. On 12 June 2026 she performed the official World Cup track ‘Goals’ with Anitta and Rema at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Los Angeles.
