Who is Kazuha?

Kazuha is a member of LE SSERAFIM. SOURCE MUSIC’s official artist page also gives her full name, NAKAMURA KAZUHA. In an interview with ELLE Korea she said: “I was born in Osaka and grew up there. After I left to study in the Netherlands, I went back and forth between the two countries.”

From ballet to K-pop

Before the debut there was ballet. Weverse Magazine wrote in May 2022 that she had danced ballet for fifteen years, until the year before. In May 2018, at the 31st Kobe National Western Dance Competition, she won first place in the classical women’s junior second division with a variation from La Esmeralda (Chacott, 11 June 2018).

She met K-pop first at school. “When I was in middle school, K-pop was popular at my school,” she told ELLE Korea, describing the shock of watching the music videos. In the Weverse Magazine interview she said she had gradually come to want a stage where she could express things in other genres, like K-pop, and that she applied with a video of herself dancing to BTS’s ‘Dynamite’ alongside a ballet video. The call from the casting team came while she was preparing for ballet company auditions at her school in the Netherlands. She rapped for the first time after joining SOURCE MUSIC, and began singing properly then too, she said.

On 8 April 2022 she was introduced as the fifth member. Newsis reported that she showed ballet movements in the introduction video and had until recently been majoring in ballet in the Netherlands. In the ELLE Korea interview she called that video “the first shoot I did after giving up ballet”, saying it let her keep on film the traces of a body that had done ballet. On 2 May she debuted with the group.

Ballet on the stage

Ballet stayed on her stage afterwards. Her first solo pictorial since the debut, with ELLE and released on 19 July 2022, was shot with a ballerina concept, and she brought the pointe shoes she had actually worn to use as props (Xports News). On 21 October that year she gave a ballet lesson on KBS 2TV’s The Return of Superman (Single List).

She co-wrote the lyrics of ‘Swan Song’ on the 2024 third mini album EASY, and at the fan meeting FEARNADA 2024 S/S at Jamsil Indoor Stadium on 11 May 2024 she danced ballet to it (My Daily). On the first world tour, which began in Incheon in April 2025, she choreographed the song’s intro herself: “I made the ‘Swan Song’ intro,” she said (SPOTV News).

There have been solo stages too. At the KBS Gayo Daejukje Global Festival at Songdo Convensia in Incheon on 19 December 2025, she performed Jung Kook’s ‘Standing Next to You’ on her own (Star News). ‘Trust Exercise’ on the 2026 second full-length album PUREFLOW pt.1 is a song Kim Chaewon, Kazuha, Huh Yunjin and Hong Eunchae worked on, and on 27 May she sang it as a duet with Kim Chaewon on Mnet M2’s web show 우쥬레코드 (Would You Record) (Sports Kyunghyang).

Variety shows and brands

In the second season of Netflix’s 대환장 기안장 (Daehwanjang Gianjang), released on 22 September 2026, she joined Kian84 as a new member with Kim Yeon-koung and Lee Jun-ho, running a guesthouse in Daegwallyeong (SPOTV News, The Fact).

Brand work began in her debut year. In November 2022 she became an official model for the make-up brand ETUDE (Star News), and on 7 May 2025 lululemon named her a global ambassador. Sports Seoul reported that the brand described it as a co-creation partnership going beyond an advertising model, and Kazuha said: “Movement, in whatever form — dance, performance, a walk in nature — is an important part of my life.” In September 2026 Shiseido’s MAQuillAGE announced her as a new muse, and on the 29th of that month she became brand ambassador for the contact lens 1-DAY ACUVUE DEFINE MOIST (both companies’ press releases).
