Who is Hong Eunchae?
Hong Eunchae is a member of LE SSERAFIM. She has told the story of how she came to SOURCE MUSIC herself. On the web show 사나의 냉터뷰 (Sana’s Naengterview), released on 31 July 2025 and reported by Sports Today, she said: “I also auditioned for PLEDIS and SOURCE MUSIC. SOURCE MUSIC was the one I felt most at ease at.” A casting staffer who had had her eye on her moved to SOURCE MUSIC, came to her academy and suggested the audition, and “that unnie became my life’s benefactor,” she said.
The news of the debut came suddenly. In her Weverse Magazine interview for the debut album she said she had been a trainee for “about half a year” when she heard in the practice room that she would debut — “I really thought it was a dream” — and that she learned the ‘FEARLESS’ choreography within two hours of receiving the video. The same interview has her watching SEVENTEEN at the 2018 Dream Concert and thinking, “I want to stand on that stage too.”
On 6 April 2022 she was introduced as the third member (Newsis). On 2 May she stood on stage with the group for the first time, at the debut media showcase at Jangchung Arena in Jung-gu, Seoul.
Music Bank’s bank manager
From 10 February 2023 she was a regular MC of KBS 2TV’s Music Bank. According to Xports News she introduced herself on her first broadcast as the “39th bank manager” and said: “I’ll be a bank manager who always makes the depositors (Music Bank viewers) smile.” Her first co-host was the actor Lee Chae-min, and from 31 May 2024 the actor Moon Sang-min joined her (Xports News).
There was a segment of her own beyond the MC desk, too. In the web show 은채의 스타일기 (Eunchae’s Star Diary) she made diary-style content each week with an idol guest, and for it she won the Digital Content Award at the KBS Entertainment Awards on 23 December 2023 — her second award of the night, after the Best Couple Award. “It’s my first time receiving an award on my own, so I’m dazed and very nervous,” she said, adding: “The fans gave it the name ‘Eunchae’s Star Diary’” (Xports News). Sports Kyunghyang reported that the segment was originally five minutes long and grew to 20 to 30 minutes at her request.
After a year and seven months she stepped down from Music Bank with the live broadcast of 27 September 2024, and Eunchae’s Star Diary ended on 3 October. On 14 and 15 December that year she co-hosted the 2024 Music Bank Global Festival in JAPAN at the Mizuho PayPay Dome in Fukuoka with Shin Ye-eun and Moon Sang-min (TV Daily). In April 2026 she returned with four episodes of Eunchae’s Star Diary Returns. My Daily reported that the original show had run to 60 episodes through October 2024, and she said: “I’ll take responsibility and give you even more fun diaries.”
Lyrics and videos
The first song she wrote lyrics for was ‘피어나’ (Pieona) on the first full-length album UNFORGIVEN, released on 1 May 2023. At the release showcase she said: “Writing lyrics was a first for me, so it felt difficult, but Yunjin, who produced it, helped me” (Sports Kyunghyang). ‘We got so much’ on the 2024 third mini album EASY has lyrics she wrote with Huh Yunjin to thank the fandom FEARNOT, and it was first performed on the group’s first solo tour in August 2023 (Star News). On the 2026 second full-length album PUREFLOW pt.1 she worked on ‘iffy iffy’ (The Fact).
In February 2025 she released 은채의 취미일기 (Eunchae’s Hobby Diary), a vlog in which she tries one hobby after another. Newsis reported that she got absorbed in punch needle and pottery, saying: “The more I do each one, the better I want to get.”
Brands
In February 2023 the casual brand KIRSH named her its new muse, and its spring/summer lookbook that year carried the title “Today’s Hong Eun Cherry” (Newspim). On 19 July she was named the advertising model of the skincare brand Calamee, her first solo advertisement (Kstyle). On 29 August 2025 she became brand ambassador of the Japanese fragrance brand VASILISA (ORICON NEWS).
