Who Sakura is

Sakura (사쿠라) is a member of LE SSERAFIM, the five-member girl group under SOURCE MUSIC, a label under HYBE. The profile page on the Japanese official site the label runs gives her stage name as SAKURA and her birth date as 19 March 1998. The Korean press usually writes her full name, Miyawaki Sakura.

There were two debuts before LE SSERAFIM. Sports Kyunghyang reported that she debuted in 2011 with the Japanese group HKT48, and that on 15 May 2021, on a live broadcast for the group’s new single, she made her graduation official and said she would leave after a concert on 19 June. In between, in 2018, she reached IZ*ONE through Mnet’s audition programme Produce 48. Seoul Shinmun reported the showcase for the first album COLOR*IZ at the Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul on 29 October 2018, and the same report names Miyawaki Sakura among the twelve members.

What to listen to

When SOURCE MUSIC began introducing the new group one member a day in 2022, Sakura came first. iMBC Entertainment reported that her photos and video went up at midnight on 4 April on the official social accounts and the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel.

A month later, on 2 May, the media showcase for the debut album FEARLESS was held at Jangchung Arena in Jung-gu, Seoul. Sakura said there that this was her third debut, that it weighed on her a little more for that reason, and that it made her want to do better. LE SSERAFIM’s later records and official videos go up on the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel and the group’s own. K-Culture Radar does not re-host video; it links to the official uploads.
