Minji is a member of NewJeans, a girl group under ADOR, a HYBE label. She co-wrote the lyrics of 'Ditto' and 'Supernatural', and in February 2023 Chanel Korea named her its ambassador across three divisions: beauty, fashion, and watches and jewellery.
Minji is a member of NewJeans. On 25 December 2022 the Gangwon Ilbo introduced her as a native of Chuncheon and carried what she had said on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block about the debut song ‘Attention’: “I’d been listening to it for about two years before we debuted. Even practising it for two years never got boring, so somewhere inside I had a feeling it would work out.” Before her debut she appeared with Hanni in the music video for BTS’s ‘Permission to Dance’ (NBN TV, 10 August 2022).
‘Ditto’, released first on 19 December 2022, is a song Minji co-wrote the lyrics for (Gangwon Ilbo). It was then included on the single OMG, released on 2 January the following year. On Supernatural, the Japanese debut single released on 21 June 2024, the title track’s lyric credits list MINJI alongside Gigi, Pharrell Williams and Ylva Dimberg — the credits printed in the album introduction ADOR supplied to the streaming services.
On 20 January 2023, the year after the debut, she took on KBS 2TV’s Music Bank as a special MC and hosted it for two weeks. On the first broadcast she said: “This is my first time hosting, so I’m really nervous. I’ll do my best hosting today and next week, for two weeks” (Xportsnews).
At the Tokyo Dome fan meeting Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome on 26–27 June 2024, the song she chose to sing alone was ‘Odoriko’ (踊り子) by the Japanese singer-songwriter Vaundy (Newsis). Episode 550 of KBS 2TV’s The Return of Superman, broadcast on 27 November that year, was the first childcare variety show she appeared on since her debut (Ilgan Sports, Xportsnews).
ADOR announced on 14 February 2023 that Minji had been named Chanel Korea’s ambassador for three divisions — beauty, fashion, and watches and jewellery — and Sports Kyunghyang noted that a simultaneous appointment across all three was “a first for Chanel Korea”. The March 2023 issue of Elle, revealed the same day, was her first solo magazine cover. In that interview Minji said: “The response I like best is that people felt good the whole time they watched the stage. It made me proud that the energy of us actually enjoying the stage seems to have come across.”
In the cover interview for the August 2023 issue of Vogue Korea she looked back on the first year since the debut and said that “what has grown the most over the past year is our teamwork” (Sports Hankook); a year later, on the August 2024 cover of the same magazine, she said she wanted “to show the music we love on more stages, both as a group and individually” (Ilgan Sports).
On 4 January 2024 Harper’s Bazaar revealed its first digital cover of the year, made in collaboration with Chanel (Xportsnews), and on 23 January (local time) she attended the Chanel Spring-Summer 2024 Haute Couture show in Paris. Sports Kyunghyang recorded it as her first Chanel show. The January 2025 cover of Elle, shot in London, was also made with Chanel Beauty, and while there she attended Chanel Beauty’s ‘Colour of Allure’ event in London (Star Today, 13 December 2024).

NewJeans are a girl group under ADOR, a HYBE label. Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein debuted as five on 22 July 2022, and the second mini album Get Up reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2023. The fourth-anniversary film released on 22 July 2026 featured Minji, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein.
