Jisung is a member of NCT DREAM under SM Entertainment. He began acting as a child in 2011, and plays the patrol officer Ji Dae-se in the ENA drama Crash 2, due in the second half of 2026.
Jisung is a member of NCT DREAM, under SM Entertainment. According to Xportsnews, on MBC Every1’s Weekly Idol in 2018 he introduced himself as born in 2002, a “World Cup baby”, and Segye Ilbo gives his birthday as 5 February.
He acted before he debuted as an idol. The Korea Herald reported that he appeared as a child actor in the 2011 drama Deep Rooted Tree and the film Unbowed. According to My Daily, SM introduced him on 17 December 2013 through SM Rookies, its project for presenting trainees, on Facebook, Twitter and the SMTOWN YouTube channel, and the video released with the announcement showed him taking a dance lesson from the choreographer Tony Testa.
His name is on the group’s credits too. The Hankook Ilbo wrote that he co-wrote the lyrics of ‘Best Friend’ and ‘Bye My First…’ on the July 2019 mini album We Boom with Jeno and Jaemin. According to Xportsnews, he took part in the rap-making for ‘Never Goodbye’, a B-side on the 2022 second full-length album Glitch Mode.
On dance, he has spoken for himself. At the showcase for the mini album DREAM( )SCAPE on 25 March 2024, he said of the title track ‘Smoothie’: “It’s an intense choreography overall. Even while doing it, we said it was the hardest choreography we’d ever had.” SPOTV News reported that he added they had set it apart by easing off in the chorus. In an April 2026 interview with Allure Korea he said that these days, rather than doing it well, “whether it suits you or not seems to matter more”.
In 2026 he returns to acting. According to Money Today, in the ENA Monday–Tuesday drama Crash 2: Road Rage he plays Ji Dae-se, a patrol officer in the traffic division of the Namgang station, and the series is to be released in the second half of 2026 on ENA and KT Genie TV. Newspim reported that it is his first role as an adult actor after his work as a child. On joining, he said: “I’ll learn step by step beside a great production team and senior actors.” Two months later he told Allure Korea: “Acting is definitely hard.”
Segye Ilbo reported that on 5 February 2026 he gave 250 million won to Samsung Seoul Hospital for pancreatic cancer research. “It’s a small contribution, but I hope it helps medical research so that many people can live happy lives without pain,” he said.
‘Tempo’, the hip-hop track on the group’s sixth mini album Beat It Up, is one he shares with Jeno and Jaemin.
