Who is Renjun?
Renjun is a member of NCT DREAM, under SM Entertainment. The South China Morning Post wrote that he was born in Jilin province, northeast China, in March 2000. He has kept one foot on Chinese-language stages alongside the group’s work in Korea, and in 2026, the group’s tenth year, he released his first solo record.
A radio booth and a first cover
Radio carried his voice outside the group early. Soompi reported that from 5 August 2019 he would host a TBS eFM radio show on weeknights from 9 to 10 p.m. Before that, on 13 December 2018, he sang on ‘Hair in the Air’, a song for the animation Trolls released through SM’s STATION channel; Xportsnews reported that Red Velvet’s Yeri, Jeno and Jaemin sang it with him.
On 23 July 2020 he posted his first solo cover on NCT’s official channel, Troye Sivan’s ‘FOOLS’. Profiling him that September, the SCMP singled it out as his first solo cover, sung in English.
Inside the group
In its piece on the fifth full-length album Go Back To The Future, released on 14 July 2025, The Korea Herald quoted him saying that every past moment had made the group who they are, so they “ultimately decided not to change anything”. Four months later, on the sixth mini album Beat It Up, he sang the unit track ‘Butterflies’ with Haechan and Chenle.
A first solo EP, Echoes Between Us
According to bnt News, the special EP Echoes Between Us, made by SM Entertainment with China’s Tencent Music Entertainment (TME), came out on China’s main music platforms on 1 June 2026. It holds three tracks. The same outlet described the title track, released first on 26 May, as a song about a mature relationship that has buried its hurt, and the words never said, in silence.
Herald Muse reported that within a day of release the EP passed 850,000 yuan in sales on QQ Music and was certified a “triple gold album”. Newsen announced that he would hold a release showcase at the Mango Hall of the Hunan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Changsha on 13 June, and wrote that every seat sold out as soon as booking opened.
At TMEA 2026, held at the Galaxy Arena in Macau on 16 August, he received the Breakthrough Leap Artist of the Year trophy. According to BizEnter, he said: “I was already grateful just to be able to share comfort and healing with so many people through ‘Echoes Between Us’, and receiving such a valuable award on top of that feels new to me.”
On the 27th of that month Star News reported that STE, the joint venture SM and TME set up in Beijing, would take over Renjun’s management in Greater China. The fan-meeting tour through five Chinese cities that July was one he shared with Chenle.
