Haechan is a member of NCT 127, the seven-member SM Entertainment group, and of NCT DREAM. He made his solo debut in September 2025 with his first full-length album, TASTE, and took its title track 'CRZY' to number one on Music Bank.
Haechan is a member of NCT 127, the seven-member group under SM Entertainment. ORICON NEWS gives his birthday as 6 June 2000 and lists him as a member of two teams, NCT 127 and NCT DREAM. Sports Kyunghyang, listing NCT DREAM in August 2026 as Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung, gave that team’s debut date as 25 August 2016.
He was on television before his debut. According to Metro Seoul, SM Rookies were chosen as the Mouseketeers for the Korean edition of Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse Club, which premiered on 23 July 2015. He appeared on it under his given name, Donghyuck.
The first recording of his voice alone was a drama song. Xports News reported that for the Playlist web drama Plenz (플렌즈), released in March 2022, he re-recorded ‘좋은 사람’ (Joeun Saram), written by Yoo Hee-yeol, and that it was his first solo track. On 26 May 2025 he released ‘니가 좋은 이유’ (Niga Joeun Iyu) for the tvN drama Geumjureul Butakhae (금주를 부탁해).
His first full-length album, TASTE, came out on 8 September 2025 with eleven tracks. In a Q&A with My Daily he said he had seen the title track ‘CRZY’ as “the song that shows my strengths best, the one I can do best”. ‘Should Be’, whose lyrics he wrote himself, was one where “it took a long time to express the demo naturally in Korean”, and the track he treasures most is ‘Grey Rain’, which the producer DEEZ first played him five years earlier.
According to Star News, the album topped the Hanteo, Hottracks and Circle Chart retail album charts published on 15 September. On the Circle weekly charts published on the 18th it led the album and retail album charts, while ‘CRZY’ topped the download and BGM charts. ‘CRZY’ took number one on KBS2’s Music Bank on 19 September, and he said, “I hoped the album would feel like a gift to fans, and I’m grateful because it feels like I’m the one who received a bigger gift.”
NCT JAPAN’s official site announced his first fan event tour, HAECHAN FAN EVENT ‘TASTE’ IN JAPAN, celebrating the album, with talk and mini-live dates in Osaka on 8 October, Tokyo on 10 October and Aichi on 11 October 2025. On 29 March 2026 came ‘Bitter Sweet’, a song he recorded with Taeyong for tvN’s Mad Concrete Dreams, the series’ second soundtrack release.
Looking back on TASTE on KBS Kpop’s YouTube show Limousine Service in August 2026, he said he had wanted to make “an album that could embrace so many people’s tastes that you could call every song a title track”. “Above all, I felt that the public loves my music too when I love it first,” he added.
He is also known for giving. According to Xports News, in February 2023 he gave 100 million won toward recovery from the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria, becoming a member of the Honor Society, the major-donor circle of the Community Chest of Korea, and on 25 March 2025 he gave 50 million won to help those affected by the wildfires in the Yeongnam region.
