Ryujin류진류진
Ryujin (류진) is a member of ITZY, the JYP Entertainment girl group. She co-wrote the lyrics and music of her first solo song 'Run Away', and under her full name, Shin Ryujin, she has acted in two films.
Ryujin (류진) is a member of ITZY, the girl group signed to JYP Entertainment. TV Report wrote on 15 June 2023 that she had told the story herself in the group’s own content: a GOT7 fan since middle school, she went to the band’s first-anniversary fan meeting and came away with an offer from JYP Entertainment.
As a trainee she turned up on screen well before her debut. On Mnet’s Stray Kids in the autumn of 2017 she was introduced as having appeared in BTS’s ‘LOVE YOURSELF Highlight Reel’ (Asia Economy, 18 October 2017), and the same year she took part in JTBC’s audition show MIXNINE as a JYP trainee (SBS funE). After her debut, in August 2019 on an SBS entertainment news programme, she talked about having played a bit part in the 2017 film The King (SBS funE, 6 August 2019).
Her first solo song, ‘Run Away’, is the seventh track on the January 2024 mini album BORN TO BE. On 22 December 2023, when its music video came out ahead of the album, Sports Kyunghyang described it as modern rock driven by an electric guitar that keeps changing tone, and reported that Ryujin co-wrote the lyrics and music. Her part of the 2026 mini album Motto is ‘Look’ (The Korea Herald).
On 17 July 2022 she joined KBS2’s Boss in the Mirror as a special host (Newsis). The next year she shot her first solo photoshoot, for the April issue of Vogue Korea, and said in the interview that for her dance is “closer to work” (Soompi, 22 March 2023).
After the 2022 wildfires on Korea’s east coast and the 2023 earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria, Ryujin sent 50 million won to each emergency appeal of the non-profit The Promise. With her giving past 100 million won, in March 2023 she became the first member of its major-donor circle, the Honors Club (Xportsnews, 30 March 2023). Sending the earthquake donation, she said she hoped it would help those affected “get out of the disaster as soon as possible and return to their daily lives”.
Sports Kyunghyang reported in November 2025 that Ryujin, under her full name Shin Ryujin, had joined director Jung Soo-hyun’s independent film 지상의 밤 (Jisangui Bam), whose name means night on earth, as Kang. It is adapted from Im Seon-woo’s short story of the same name, and the Hankook Ilbo described Kang as a worker at the Manbok guesthouse. In director Kim Jeong-hoon’s film 면도 (Myeondo), named for a shave, she plays Mina, a friend of the lead character Su-yeon; The Fact reported on 8 May 2026 that filming had wrapped in March and that a cinema release was being prepared for the second half of the year.
She has made one appearance in a drama too. In the July 2026 finale of JTBC’s Reborn Rookie she made a cameo as a character borrowed from “ITZY member Ryujin”, playing the scene in which she collides with the lead and the two swap souls (My Daily, 10 July 2026).
JYP Entertainment
ITZY (있지) is a five-piece JYP Entertainment girl group — Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna. They debuted on 12 February 2019 with the single IT'z Different and its title track 'Dalla Dalla', and released their twelfth mini album Motto in May 2026.
ITZY's mini album Motto, released on 18 May 2026, carries one solo track per member; Yuna's is the eighth track, 'Tangerine', first performed on her tour stage in February and on a record three months later. In a release-day Q&A, Yuna named the fandom MIDZY as the motto of the comeback.
Yuna of ITZY made her solo debut on 23 March 2026 with her first mini album Ice Cream, seven years after the group's debut and second among ITZY members after Yeji. The four tracks, what she said at the showcase, the first-day charts and the Infinix ambassadorship of the 3rd, in date order.
