ITZY's Yuna's solo track 'Tangerine': from a February tour stage to the May mini album Motto

What happened

ITZY released the mini album Motto and its title track of the same name at 6 p.m. on 18 May 2026. According to Munhwa Ilbo, the record carries eight tracks in all: the title track, ‘Glitch’, ‘you And I’, and the five members’ solo songs first performed on their individual stages of the third world tour — ‘Pocket’ (Yeji), ‘Asylum’ (Lia), ‘LOOK’ (Ryujin), ‘Undefined’ (Chaeryeong) and ‘Tangerine’ (Yuna). The same report said the writers included Shim Eun-ji, Lee Woo-min, who works under the name collapsedone, KASS and Justin Reinstein. Bugs’ album page lists the type as EP, JYP Entertainment as the agency and Dreamus as the distributor, with ‘Tangerine (Yuna)’ as the eighth track. eToday reported that the album came about six months after TUNNEL VISION of November 2025. The album introduction on Bugs describes Yuna in the trailer as someone who keeps going by trusting the feeling of the moment even when she wavers.

Hanteo News wrote that ‘Tangerine’ was the unreleased solo track Yuna first performed on her individual stage of the third world tour TUNNEL VISION in February. The tour opened at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa, Seoul, from 13 to 15 February, and a month later, on 23 March, Yuna made her solo debut with the first mini album Ice Cream. In the Q&A eToday ran on 18 May, the release day, Yuna said: “While preparing for ‘Motto,’ I reflected on the past seven years and realized just how much Midzy had become the lighthouse that helped guide me toward the right choices.” In the same Q&A she added: “Whenever we shout, ‘Itzy, Midzy, let’s fly!’ we receive more than 212 percent energy. I want to once again tell Midzy, who became the motto behind this comeback, thank you, and I love you.” In the English quotes The Korea Herald ran the same day, Yuna said she had built an even deeper bond with MIDZY through the TUNNEL VISION concerts and her solo debut in March. Newsis reported that the album followed the attention drawn by the performance of the second mini album’s B-side ‘THAT’S A NO NO’, first unveiled at the Seoul concerts in February, and Financial News wrote that the song had achieved a reverse run.
