ITZY's Yuna makes her solo debut with Ice Cream: 23 March, four tracks and what she said at the showcase

Yuna of ITZY made her solo debut on 23 March 2026 with her first mini album Ice Cream. As Hanteo News put it, that is seven years after the group’s debut in February 2019, and she is the second ITZY member to go solo after Yeji, who released AIR in March 2025. The record carries four tracks led by the title track ‘Ice Cream’. Sports Kyunghyang reported exclusively on 6 January 2026 that Yuna would release her first solo album in March and step forward as a solo artist. The same report said she had recently begun filming the music video, and that for ITZY this was the second solo debut after Yeji, who released her solo debut album AIR in March 2025. In between, ITZY opened the Seoul concerts of their third world tour TUNNEL VISION at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa, Seoul, from 13 to 15 February, and according to Hanteo News Yuna first performed the unreleased solo track ‘Tangerine’ on her individual stage of that tour. JYP Entertainment’s official YouTube channel posted the official solo debut trailer on 1 March with the album’s name, Ice Cream, in the video’s title, and News1 reported the next day that Yuna would debut solo on the 23rd as the second ITZY soloist after Yeji.

A first mini album with four tracks

Bugs’ album page gives Ice Cream a release date of 23 March 2026, the type EP, JYP Entertainment as the agency and Dreamus as the distributor. The tracks are the title track ‘Ice Cream’ and ‘B-Boy’, ‘Blue Maze’ and ‘Hyper Dream’, four in all. The album introduction on Bugs describes the title track as bubblegum pop, gives its message as “this moment is melting sweetly like ice cream, so do not miss it and enjoy it to the full”, and credits the lyrics to EXY, PERRIE and UYEON. The Korea Times introduced ‘B-Boy’ as the groove-driven track, ‘Blue Maze’ as the dreamy love song and ‘Hyper Dream’ as the cinematic closer. According to the same album introduction, the music video was directed by Yoon Seung-rim of Legend Film, and the dance crews Root and LACHICA took part in the performance.

What she said at the showcase on 23 March

Yuna held a showcase at 2 p.m. on 23 March, the release day, at the Pullman Ambassador Seoul East Pole in Gwangjin, Seoul, and the album came out at 6 p.m. the same day. According to News1, she said there that she had “spent the time on making the stage look fuller, and missed the unnies a lot”, and that while preparing she “found out that I am passionate and really ambitious about this album”. She summed up the aim of the solo run as wanting people to “see me as a singer who has what it takes as a solo artist too, and I will show that”. According to Ilgan Sports, she played the title track to the members first when it came in, and “the unnies all said it suited me, and that they could picture me on stage with this song”. In the same report she said Yeji came to the music video set in person and that “I burst into tears the moment I saw her, and it was a big boost”, adding that the refreshments the members sent “gave me strength throughout the shoot”. Of the title track she said that “when I first heard ‘Ice Cream’ I could see straight away what kind of stage it would be”, and described it as “a song with the fluttery feeling of eating bead ice cream at an amusement park”. In an interview Hanteo News ran on 27 March she said: “I want to be recognised as the solo artist Yuna. It is not just ice cream, it is ‘high-sugar’ ice cream.”

The charts straight after release, and two weeks of music shows

Star News, rounding up the promotions on 6 April, reported that ‘Ice Cream’ reached number one on Bugs’ real-time chart as of 7 p.m. on 23 March, straight after release, and that the album topped Hanteo Chart’s daily physical album chart and Circle Chart’s daily retail album chart for the 23rd. The same report said that as of the morning of the 24th the music video was number one on YouTube’s music video trending in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Canada and Chile, among others, and number two worldwide. Starting with Mnet’s M Countdown on 26 March, Yuna spent two weeks on music shows including KBS 2TV’s Music Bank, MBC’s Show! Music Core and SBS’s Inkigayo, and on YouTube content. The ‘Ice Cream’ music video, posted on JYP Entertainment’s channel on 23 March, had 17,084,573 views as of 2 September 2026.

The same month: Infinix’s first global brand ambassador

On 3 March, 20 days before the solo debut, TenAsia reported that Yuna had been named the first global brand ambassador of the global tech brand Infinix. The press release Infinix issued the same day through Newswire said the appointment coincided with the global launch of its annual flagship, the NOTE 60 Series. According to the release, the NOTE 60 Series is Infinix’s first Note model with a Qualcomm Technologies Snapdragon chip, combining design by Pininfarina with JBL audio, and Infinix, founded in 2013, sells its products in more than 70 countries across Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia. Through TenAsia, Yuna said: “I am glad to be able to show my true self as Infinix’s global ambassador.”
