What happened
aespa released the special digital single SYNK : COMPLaeXITY - 2026 Special Digital Single at 6 p.m. KST on 14 September 2026. The date announced by Newdaily also appears as 14 September in Melon’s album information. The record collects solo songs performed on the fourth world tour, ‘2026-27 aespa LIVE TOUR - SYNK : COMPLæXITY -’.
The tracks are Karina’s ‘16 Bit’, Winter’s ‘Saddle Up’, Giselle’s ‘BYEB4HELLO’ and Ningning’s ‘I Love You But I Gotta Let You Go’. Newdaily reported Karina’s participation in the lyrics and Giselle’s and Ningning’s participation in writing and composing. Queen Economy Queen described Ningning’s track as a ballad she wrote herself.
When and where
The four songs were performed before their official digital release. Korea JoongAng Daily reported that they were first performed at the Gocheok Sky Dome shows in Seoul on 7 and 8 August 2026, about five weeks before they reached music services.
Bandwagon set out what each song is about on the day of release. The outlet described ‘16 Bit’ as using fragmented pixels as a metaphor for losing sight of yourself, ‘Saddle Up’ as centring on confidence and letting actions speak louder than words, ‘BYEB4HELLO’ as exploring the longing of an impossible love, and ‘I Love You But I Gotta Let You Go’ as capturing the pain of walking away from a relationship.
Why it matters
The performance premieres and release date are separate. The four songs unveiled at Gocheok Sky Dome on 7 and 8 August arrived together as a single about five weeks later. Following the earlier story about the tour opening, this record contains the songs sung on those solo stages.
Melon’s credits distinguish the performing member from the creative contributors. Karina is listed among the lyricists of ‘16 Bit’, Giselle among the lyricists and composers of ‘BYEB4HELLO’ and Ningning among the lyricists and composers of ‘I Love You But I Gotta Let You Go’. The lyrics and composition of ‘Saddle Up’ credit James G.Morales, Matt Morales and Nina Ann Nelson.
