Ningning (닝닝) is a member of aespa, the four-member girl group under SM Entertainment. She was introduced third, on 29 October 2020, and her solos 'Bored!' and 'Ketchup And Lemonade' and 'Lollipop', a unit song she co-wrote with Giselle, came out on the group's SYNK singles.
Ningning (닝닝) is a member of aespa, the four-member girl group under SM Entertainment. The group debuted on 17 November 2020 with the single ‘Black Mamba’. SM Entertainment introduced the members one a day in the run-up to that debut, and Newsis and CBS Nocut News reported on 29 October 2020 that Ningning had been introduced as the third member and that she is a Chinese national. According to both outlets, SM Entertainment presented her that day as a member with an outstanding singing voice. aespa’s Japanese official site gives her birth date as 23 October 2002, and OSEN described her on 29 November 2025 as coming from Harbin, China.
HuffPost Korea reported on the day she was introduced that Ningning had been an SM Entertainment trainee since 2016 and had been part of the company’s pre-debut team, SM Rookies, in that time.
Each of Ningning’s solo songs is on one of the two SYNK special digital singles. ‘Bored!’, on SYNK : PARALLEL LINE of 9 October 2024, was first performed at the second concert, and SM Entertainment’s album notes, carried on Bugs, call it an R&B dance track. ‘Ketchup And Lemonade’, on SYNK : aeXIS LINE of 17 November 2025, came from the third concert, at Seoul’s KSPO Dome that August; the notes call it an R&B song.
‘Lollipop’ is a unit song she sings with Giselle. According to Xports News, the two took part in writing its lyrics and music, and aespa first performed it at the Tokyo Dome on 25-26 April 2026. It was released on 9 August on SYNK : aeXIS LINE (2026), which carries the group’s first two unit songs, and the album notes describe it as R&B.
After the second full-length album LEMONADE came out, Idology’s Quibbie wrote about the title track in the outlet’s weekly column of 2 June 2026, adding in brackets that “the Giselle and Ningning rap verse in the second half is formidable”.
The song Ningning sang alone at the tour’s opening shows in Seoul, at the Gocheok Sky Dome on 7-8 August 2026, was ‘I Love You But I Gotta Let You Go’. TenAsia wrote that she drew the audience to her voice with it, strings joining behind her until her voice filled the hall. The same outlet described the ‘Lollipop’ she sang with Giselle at those shows as bright and dreamlike. The shows are covered in the Gocheok Sky Dome story.
In release order, Ningning’s songs run from ‘Bored!’ in 2024 to ‘Ketchup And Lemonade’ in 2025 and ‘Lollipop’, written with Giselle, in 2026. The title track with the verse Quibbie singled out is on the page for the second album, LEMONADE, together with its track list.
