Woni's First Regular TV Slot: MBC's 'Road to Jikgwan'
RESCENE's Woni was named a regular on 'Road to Jikgwan', a segment of MBC's sports programme Welcome to Sports, on 8 July 2025. It was her first regular variety slot after debut, and the episodes on MBC's own sports channel run from a July 2025 baseball game to a 2026 outing with Minami.
The route by which Woni’s name spread in 2026 was her own YouTube channel, which Kyunghyang Shinmun reports opened on 4 February 2026. Her slot on national television is seven months older than that. On 8 July 2025, Star News and CBC News both reported that RESCENE’s Woni had taken her first regular variety show since debut. The programme is MBC’s Welcome to Sports; the segment is called ‘Road to Jikgwan’. What follows is what the two outlets reported that day, set against the episodes still archived on MBC’s own sports channel, in upload order.
8 July 2025: a first regular slot since debut
Star News reported on 8 July 2025 that RESCENE’s Woni was taking on her first regular variety show since debut. The programme is Welcome to Sports, an MBC sports show broadcast on Wednesdays at 12.35am. CBC News described it as a sports programme carrying news from across the sporting world. Woni’s segment is ‘Road to Jikgwan’, in which she goes to a real venue each episode with the MBC announcer Ko Kang-yong, watches the game in person and reports the atmosphere and the supporters’ culture. Star News described the segment as the wandering tour of a ‘seurini’ — a beginner to sport — answering the questions a first-time spectator has. Through her agency, THE MUZE Entertainment, Woni said she was glad to be meeting viewers through a regular variety show for the first time, that she had always liked and followed sport, and that it was an honour to be a regular on a sports variety show; CBC News reported that she added she would carry the atmosphere of the venue across as vividly as she could, and asked for plenty of interest and love. According to Star News, RESCENE had at the time released its second single Dearest and was promoting its title track ‘Deja Vu’.
The segment came before her
‘Road to Jikgwan’ was not created for Woni. Its first episode, ‘MBC 아나운서들의 FC서울 vs FC안양 연고지 더비 직관!!! [로드투직관 EP.01]’ (“MBC announcers at the FC Seoul vs FC Anyang hometown derby”), is archived on MBC’s official sports YouTube channel ‘스탐’; it went up on 25 February 2025 and followed MBC announcers to a football match. As of 1 September 2026 that episode showed 38,506 views. Woni joined about four months later, at the segment’s eighth episode.
EP.08, starting at a baseball ground
On 8 July 2025, the day the casting was reported, the ‘스탐’ channel first posted a 41-second clip of Woni at a baseball game; as of 1 September 2026 it showed 3,759 views. Two days later, on 10 July, the 31-minute episode itself went up, under a title asking what happens when RESCENE’s Woni goes to a baseball ground. On the same date it showed 212,303 views, the highest of the episodes she appears in. The second came on 24 July 2025 as the segment’s ninth episode, its title describing the real reactions of watching a Lotte-LG game in person; it runs 31 minutes and 9 seconds and showed 52,565 views. The next day, 25 July, the same channel posted a 50-second clip of Ko Kang-yong and Woni singing along to an LG supporters’ song.
2026, an episode with Minami
The segment carried into the following year. On 31 May 2026 the ‘스탐’ channel published a 34-minute, 8-second episode of Woni and Minami at an ice hockey game, its title opening with the catchphrase ‘Ice hockey yaho~’. RESCENE’s Minami appears alongside her, and as of 1 September 2026 the episode showed 145,655 views — second only to EP.08 among the episodes Woni appears in. The same day the channel posted an 18-second clip of Woni speaking in her Geoje dialect, which showed 79,111 views. On 5 June came a 1-minute, 26-second clip of Minami interpreting, at 16,074 views. The first episode is dated July 2025 and the ice hockey outing May 2026.
