ROMANCE : UNTOLD -daydream-

The record

ROMANCE : UNTOLD -daydream- is the repackage of ENHYPEN’s second full album, ROMANCE : UNTOLD, released on 11 November 2024 with 11 tracks. The title track is ‘No Doubt’. The new songs are two, the opening ‘Daydream’ and the title track; the other nine tracks carry over the songs of the original, released four months earlier.

BELIFT LAB’s album introduction on Bugs says the record widens a theme of the original’s romance story. Of two lovers who belong to different worlds and cannot be together at every moment, “I” spends the hours without “you” as a long day in which time seems to stop. The daydreams of those hours soon turn into a nightmare, and through that anxiety and loneliness “I” becomes all the more certain of the love. The same text calls this story “a daydream at midday”.

Among the tracks

The album introduction presents the title track ‘No Doubt’ as danceable synth-pop, built in layers of retro synthesisers, a repeating drum loop and a minimal 808 bass rhythm. The same text says the song tells of a love that will not change, out of the worry and unease felt when the other person cannot be reached, a feeling that real couples go through as well. Bugs credits its lyrics and music to 14 people, among them Johnny Goldstein, Theron Thomas, Kasey Phillips and “hitman”bang.

Of the music video, the album introduction says it turns the day without “you” into delusions and fantasies set in an office. The feverish, dizzying experience of being in love is likened to the life of an office worker.

The opener ‘Daydream’ is an urban hip-hop song that the album introduction calls a new style for ENHYPEN. It starts with a whispered rap and a soulful vocal melody, carried by a weighty bass line and minimal drums. The lyrics hold the longing of someone waiting alone through a nightmarish day without the other, and loving them more desperately for it. The same text says the song shows the boy’s “daydream at midday” more directly than the title track.

The nine songs taken from the original make up the earlier part of the same story. Among them are the first fan song, ‘Highway 1009’, and the English version of ‘XO (Only If You Say Yes)’ featuring JVKE.

Numbers

Circle Chart counted the record number one on its album chart for week 46 of 2024 (10 to 16 November). The title track ‘No Doubt’ was 55th on the digital chart that week and entered the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. at number 182 on the chart dated 30 November 2024.

Soompi, citing Hanteo Chart, reported on 22 August 2026 that THE SIN : BLISS was ENHYPEN’s seventh album to sell more than one million copies on its first day, and listed this record among the six before it.

After it

Seven months later, in June 2025, came the sixth mini album DESIRE : UNLEASH. BELIFT LAB’s introduction to that record says that where the two ROMANCE records told a story of devoted love between “you” and “I”, the next one tells of the desire latent in a deepened love. ENHYPEN’s first-day sales record, this one included, is set out in the story on THE SIN : BLISS and the group’s first album as six.
