ENHYPEN Return as Six: 'Bloody Paradise' and THE SIN : BLISS
THE SIN : BLISS, out 21 August 2026, is ENHYPEN's first album as six. Why 'Bloody Paradise' is Brazilian funk, and what Hanteo's 1.77 million first-day count means.
What happened
ENHYPEN released their eighth mini album, THE SIN : BLISS, on Friday 21 August 2026, and the music video for its title track ‘Bloody Paradise’ followed at 12 a.m. KST on 22 August on HYBE LABELS’ YouTube channel. It is the group’s first album as a six-member act: Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-Ki have promoted as a sextet since March, when, as the Korea Times reported, Heeseung — now known by the stage name EVAN — left the group.
A day before release, on 20 August, the six held their first media conference in the new line-up at a hotel in Seoul’s Yongsan District. Leader Jungwon told reporters that the members had focused on the finished work rather than on the size of the line-up — ‘on how the recording sounds and how the performance looks’ — and that the group had played a show in Australia two or three days after the line-up change. Jay added: ‘I’d call it the best album of ENHYPEN’s career.’
The song had already been heard live. ENHYPEN premiered ‘Bloody Paradise’ on 8 and 9 August at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium in Busan, on the domestic leg of the ‘BLOOD SAGA’ world tour, inside a 160-minute, 28-song set that opened with ‘Knife’; Jake told the press conference that people cheered for the song and sang along before it had come out. About two weeks later the album arrived with the numbers below.
Why is it trending?
The first-day figures are the headline. According to Hanteo Chart, THE SIN : BLISS sold 1,774,829 copies on 21 August and topped Hanteo’s daily albums chart; Soompi counted it as ENHYPEN’s seventh album to pass one million copies on its day of release, after DARK BLOOD, ORANGE BLOOD, ROMANCE : UNTOLD, ROMANCE : UNTOLD -daydream-, DESIRE : UNLEASH and THE SIN : VANISH. By 10:30 a.m. KST on 22 August, according to BELIFT LAB, the album was number one on iTunes Top Albums charts in at least 23 regions, including Brazil, Japan, Malaysia and Turkey, and ‘Bloody Paradise’ was number one on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 13, including Thailand, Argentina and the Philippines. The song also debuted at number one on Bugs’ real-time chart in Korea.
The second reason is the genre. ‘Bloody Paradise’ is a Brazilian funk dance track — the Korea Times describes sharp, drilled choreography over a raw Brazilian funk beat — about a couple who find paradise as long as they are together, even while being pursued. For most of the members it was their first attempt at the genre; Sunghoon had worked with Brazilian funk on his solo remix of ‘Knife’, the title track of the seventh mini album, and told the press conference that when it became the new main track ‘it felt very fresh and fun’. Sunoo summarised the lyric: ‘Even in a crisis, even while running, if the person you love is beside you, wherever you are is paradise.’
The third is the story. THE SIN : BLISS is the second chapter of the ‘THE SIN’ series and picks up where January’s THE SIN : VANISH left off: two vampire lovers who broke a taboo and ran now face mounting threats and come to accept that being together is the ‘bliss’. BELIFT LAB’s album page lists the ten tracks in narrative order — ‘Two Fools’, the news-style interlude ‘Breaking News’, ‘Stuck’, ‘Bad For You’, ‘Remnants of Love’, ‘Bloody Paradise’, ‘The Final Moment’, ‘Checkmate’, ‘Highlight’ and ‘The Veiled Truth’ — with narration threaded between the songs, and Jay told reporters that ‘the concept album is an important keyword for us’.
The build-up was long and public. The comeback was announced on 18 June, when the Korea Times reported that ENHYPEN would release a new album in August — the group’s return after seven months, since January’s THE SIN : VANISH, which the paper reported as the group’s fourth double-million-selling album and a ten-week presence on the Billboard 200. BELIFT LAB’s promotion calendar for the album lists seven concept films — ‘ROUTE’, ‘MIDNIGHT BANK’, ‘DORMANT’, ‘PEARL BITE’, ‘CENTURIES’, ‘NOOMAX’ and ‘HAVEN’ — plus a trailer, two main-visual films and two official teasers before the music video; Soompi had tracked the run from a partial calendar ENHYPEN released on 5 July, whose video flagged there was still ‘more to come’. All the while, the group toured: the ‘BLOOD SAGA’ world tour, 33 concerts across 21 cities, opened at KSPO DOME in Seoul before passing through South and North America in July and August.
