The record
Ice Cream is Yuna of ITZY’s first solo mini album, released on 23 March 2026. It carries four songs — the title track ‘Ice Cream’, ‘B-Boy’, ‘Blue Maze’ and ‘Hyper Dream’. The album introduction records Yuna as the group’s second soloist after Yeji, and News1 reported the same on the day.
The same text describes the title track as bubblegum pop that pops like chewing gum, carrying a message about not missing the moment. It gives ‘B-Boy’ as a song about moving with the body over hip-hop and breakbeat, ‘Blue Maze’ as built on R&B and soft funk, and ‘Hyper Dream’ as led by its layers of sound. EXY, PERRIE and Uyeon wrote the title track’s lyrics and Space Primates arranged it.
Reviews
Park Si-hoon covered the title track for IZM on 2 April 2026. He wrote that “a retro pop track made with deep craft — an Eighties synth-pop sound, a chorus that tickles — settles into the ear without asking anything of you”, and that “a recipe that leaves out anything divisive announces that her destination is beside the public rather than in unknown territory”.
Mano wrote about the record in Idology’s weekly new-release column on 30 March 2026: “Every song on the EP is made of a trendy, light, finely worked texture that suits bringing out the artist’s delicate, flowing tone.”
Z11 covered the song for Real Sound on 14 April 2026. “This one is a pop tune with the dreamy, sweet world of its title wide open,” he wrote, and of a delivery that never forces the voice up but rides the song’s light beat: “an aesthetic of subtraction that she could reach only after all those big stages.”
Among the tracks
The title track left a mark on the group’s own record two months later. Writing about ITZY’s ‘Motto’ for IZM on 28 May 2026, Han Seong-hyeon noted that the arrangement mixes a house rhythm with the disco guitar this song had used.
Besides the title track, Park Si-hoon named ‘Blue Maze’ and ‘Hyper Dream’. He wrote that ‘Blue Maze’ uses a mysterious vocal chop and that ‘Hyper Dream’ holds steady through a varied structure. The album introduction credits the music video to the director Yoon Seung-rim of Legend Film, and says the dance crews Root and La Chica worked on the performance.

Real Sound noted that the song was at number seven on Spotify’s Daily Viral Songs chart for Japan dated 9 April 2026.
