Who is Ahyeon?

Ahyeon (아현) is a member of BABYMONSTER (베이비몬스터), the seven-member girl group under YG Entertainment. The agency’s official profile gives her birthday as 11 April 2007 and the group’s debut date as 1 April 2024. She, Rami and Rora are the three members from Korea.

The road to debut

YG Entertainment posted ‘BABYMONSTER - Introducing AHYEON’ on its official blog on 27 February 2023. Xports News, reporting on the film the same day, described Ahyeon as a Korean trainee with vocals, rap and dance in equal measure. Yang Hyun-suk, the executive producer, said: “Ahyeon is a warrior carrying far too many weapons. Every time I see her I think, it is hard to have all of that.”

In the same report Ahyeon said: “I want to be a versatile artist who is not confined to one thing and can take on every genre.”

The final line-up was settled by the debut member announcement film posted on the official blog at midnight on 12 May 2023. According to The Fact, the first name Yang Hyun-suk called was Ahyeon’s, and the film introduced her as an all-rounder short of nothing in vocals, rap or performance.

Becoming seven

BABYMONSTER released the debut digital single ‘BATTER UP’ on 27 November 2023 as six members. According to Star News, YG Entertainment confirmed Ahyeon’s joining in March 2024, and the seven stood together on 1 April with the first mini album BABYMONS7ER.

At the round-table interview held that day, Rora said: “We have known each other a long time, so we always took it for granted that seven of us would debut. We are grateful that Ahyeon has joined, and it has become a chance for the seven of us to hold together, so everyone is glad to be doing this promotion.”

Her place in the team

BABYMONSTER has no leader. In the same interview Ruka set out who takes what and said: “On vocals it is Ahyeon or Rami.” Ahyeon said: “Each of us does a role from where we stand. I think it will carry on this way. There is no leader.”

On the broadcast of Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’ on 16 October 2025, BABYMONSTER took first place with ‘WE GO UP’, the title track of the second mini album. MyDaily, reporting on the stage, wrote that Ahyeon carried the whistle register as well. According to the same report it was the first time the group had received a trophy on a live music show.

Solo stages

At the last of the three Seoul shows of the second world tour, ‘CHOOM’, at Jamsil Arena on 28 June 2026, Ahyeon took a solo stage with ‘Problem’. SPOTV News reported that six members each took a solo stage that night, and quoted Ahyeon: “Starting the world tour in Seoul feels special. I think we can repay the support MONSTIEZ have sent us everywhere we go from here.”

What to watch

Ahyeon’s vocals first reached a record on the first mini album BABYMONS7ER, released on 1 April 2024. The song that brought the group its first live-show win is the title track of the second mini album, WE GO UP. The records and the official channel are gathered on the BABYMONSTER hub, and the two nights at Kyocera Dome Osaka in September 2026 close the Japanese leg of this tour.
