What happened

NCT 127’s seventh full-length album BLINGY arrived at 6pm on 24 August 2026. SM Entertainment said the music went up on Melon, Spotify, Apple Music and QQ Music among others, and that the music video went to YouTube’s SMTOWN channel at the same hour. The physical album came out the same day; Munhwa Ilbo reported that pre-orders had opened on 27 July, about a month before release.

The album carries nine tracks. The agency introduced the set as “a total of nine songs holding NCT 127’s own musical world”. The title track is ‘Blingy’, which the album is named after.

All seven members took part. SM Entertainment said that the seven, Doyoung and Jungwoo included, are on the record, and that Doyoung and Jungwoo are credited as lyricists on the B-side ‘127 Million Miles’ and Taeyong and Johnny on ‘I mean, It’s about time’.

What happened a month before release sets the album’s place. According to Dailian, SM Entertainment said on 15 July 2026 that Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo and Haechan had all re-signed. The sentence the company issued was that the contracts rested on “the solid teamwork they have built and their deep trust in the company”.

The same report noted that NCT 127 debuted on 7 July 2016, ten years earlier. So the renewal, the full-length album and the tenth year all landed in one summer — and the words the agency used to introduce the record were ‘One Team’.
