Jaehee is a member of NCT WISH, the six-member SM Entertainment group who debuted on 21 February 2024 with ‘WISH’. Mynavi News reports that he was offered a place after a singing video he had posted on YouTube. In a Star News interview on 4 April 2024, a little over a month after the debut, he described where the dream began: “I grew my dream of becoming an artist after I first saw Jaehyun. About a month after I came to SM as a trainee, NCT 127’s ‘Ay-Yo’ came out…”
According to THE FIRST TIMES, he joined the pre-debut reality programme NCT Universe: LASTART from its third mission. Introducing him on 25 January 2024, SM wrote that despite joining midway he made his presence felt with a powerful voice from his very first stage, and quoted the programme’s artist director, BoA: “Not only when he sings — his voice has strength when he raps too. A versatile one.”
The same Star News interview introduced him as the group’s main vocalist, and he answered: “I’m confident I can show a vocal that’s my own, so I want to lead the team well with my voice.” In the question-and-answer SM released for the first anniversary, on 21 February 2025, he named recording as where he had changed most in a year: “Every time I record I feel I take in the direction faster, and I’m proud to see myself grow that much.”
He has sung on stages outside the group too. Sports Kyunghyang and Star News reported on 10 September 2025 that he appeared in disguise on MBC’s King of Mask Singer, singing DAY6’s ‘Welcome to the Show’ and ballads by Kim Kyung-ho and Naul. The same reports said that on KBS Kpop’s web show Limousine Service, released the day before, he sang an arrangement of a song from COLOR and duetted EXO’s ‘Don’t Go’ with the host, Lee Mu-jin.
On 1 July 2026 his duet with Hearts2Hearts’ Yuha, ‘눈을 떠봐’ (Nuneul Tteobwa, “open your eyes”), came out as the first song of a special soundtrack for the latest animated film in the Catch! Teenieping franchise (Asia Economy, 7 July 2026). In a Sports Kyunghyang interview on 17 May 2026 he said: “I’d be happy if people started calling me a ‘sure-thing vocalist’. Vocals are what I most want to be recognised for, so I’ll keep showing you how hard I work.”
