Who is Rosé

Rosé (로제) is the main vocalist of BLACKPINK, which debuted on 8 August 2016 with the single album SQUARE ONE. The Korea Herald reported in 2021 that she was born in Auckland, New Zealand and raised in Melbourne, Australia. In June 2024 the Korea JoongAng Daily reported that she had signed a management contract with THE BLACK LABEL for her solo career, while the four members’ contracts with YG Entertainment, signed in December 2023, cover the group’s activities.

“APT.”, her single with Bruno Mars, took Song of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on 7 September — ET News reported it as the first K-pop win in that category. The song was then nominated in three categories at the 68th Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year, and she opened that ceremony performing it with Bruno Mars on 1 February 2026.

What to listen to

“Messy”, released in May 2025 for the F1 film soundtrack, is her most recent solo music video; the live version of “APT.” from the Grammy ceremony is on the same channel.
