Jennie has been a member of BLACKPINK since the group's debut in August 2016. Her solo work is released through OA, the company she announced at the end of 2023, and her first solo album Ruby followed in March 2025.

At the end of December 2023 she announced OA — also written ODD ATELIER — as the company handling her solo career, writing that she was starting her solo journey with a company she had established herself; her group activities stayed with YG Entertainment. In September 2024 Soompi reported a solo recording deal with Columbia Records.
Her first solo album, Ruby, was released on 7 March 2025 with fifteen tracks led by “like JENNIE”, and entered the Billboard 200 at number seven. Later that month she received the Global Force Award at Billboard Women in Music, and in January 2026 she took four awards at the 40th Golden Disc Awards, among them the first Artist of the Year prize the ceremony has given.
“Less than a Lover”, released on 24 July 2026, is her most recent single; Soompi reported it at number one on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 27 regions. The official video is on her Vevo channel, and her own channel carries the rest of her solo uploads.

Sports Kyunghyang reported that BLACKPINK marked its 10th debut anniversary on 8 August 2026, with BORN PINK at number one on the Billboard 200 and the UK albums chart, DEADLINE past 1.77 million copies in a week and 42.6 billion YouTube views. YouTube said it passed 100 million subscribers.
