On SBS’s 전설의 무대-아카이브K (Jeonseorui Mudae: Archive K) in 2021 she recalled that when she said she did not know JYP, she was shown photographs of the agency’s artists: “the actors from the drama Dream High, which I was watching then, were there. That’s how I ended up joining” (Sports Today). Of her decision to move to Korea as soon as she finished middle school, she said in a 2024 Japanese interview that momentum matters when you chase a dream (Model Press).
Her first hosting job was as a special host of MBC Show! Music Core on 14 May 2016, in the year after the debut (Xportsnews). Regular hosting began in 2024. On 19 March the YouTube channel 일일칠 (117) announced her as the new special host of 냉터뷰 (Naengteobyu), and Sana greeted viewers: “I, Sana, have become the special host of Naengteobyu” (Xportsnews). After six episodes from the first on 28 March, she wrote: “Deciding to be the special host was a really good choice” (Sports Chosun).
사나의 냉터뷰 (Sanaui Naengteobyu) came back for a second season on 13 March 2025 and a third on 23 July 2026 (the channel’s own teasers). In an interview with Vogue Korea she said that because the seat is there to help a guest talk comfortably, “when I get the script I try hard to memorise it”.
On the group’s albums she wrote the lyrics of one track alone on the second full-length album, Eyes wide open, in October 2020, and the official track information of the tenth mini album, Taste of Love, in June 2021 names her as the sole lyricist of ‘Conversation’. In MISAMO, the unit she shares with Momo and Mina in Japan, she wrote the lyrics of ‘Rewind you’ on Masterpiece (2023), and took part in the lyrics of ‘Mirage’, her solo song on the SANA edition of HAUTE COUTURE (2024) (ORICON NEWS). Her solo on the first full-length album, PLAY, in 2026 is ‘Ma Cherry’.
On 7 July 2023 the British jeweller GRAFF named her its first Japan ambassador, and in June 2024 she became its Asia ambassador. In September 2023 Prada called her a brand ambassador for the first time (NME), and in December of that year she became the Japan ambassador of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté (FASHIONSNAP). In November 2024 she entered a partnership with Ralph Lauren Japan.
Her first film is also set. On 9 July 2026 the producers of the Korean-Japanese co-production 냥이:당신의 세계에 닿기를 (Nyangi: Dangsinui Segyee Dakgireul), a working title that reads “kitty: may it reach your world”, announced that Sana makes her screen debut in the female lead, Nao. Satoh Takeru stars with her, and shooting is due to start in Japan around autumn 2026 (Star News).
