Who TWICE are

TWICE (트와이스) are a nine-member girl group under JYP Entertainment. The line-up was settled on Mnet’s survival programme SIXTEEN in 2015, and the group debuted on 20 October that year with the mini album THE STORY BEGINS and its title track ‘Like OOH-AHH’. The members are Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu. The fandom is called ONCE, a name the official Instagram announced in November 2015, two weeks after the debut.

The group’s work in Japan began with a showcase at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in July 2017. In April 2026 it played three solo concerts at Tokyo’s National Stadium as added Japanese dates of its sixth world tour, THIS IS FOR, which Newsis reported as the first solo concert there by an artist from outside Japan. Momo, Sana and Mina also work as the unit MISAMO, which released its first full-length Japanese album, PLAY, in February 2026.

In August 2026 Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung ended their exclusive contracts with JYP Entertainment. Jeongyeon signed with VARO Entertainment on 10 August, and Chaeyoung announced on 13 August that she would continue her music as a soloist. Both said they would carry on with TWICE unchanged, and the group’s official profile still lists nine members in September 2026.

Solos, units and nine solo songs

The first record made outside the group was Nayeon’s first mini album, IM NAYEON, in June 2022. Jihyo followed with ZONE in August 2023 and Tzuyu with abouTZU in September 2024, and in September 2025 Chaeyoung became the fourth to go solo, with her first full-length album, LIL FANTASY vol.1.

The unit songs first appeared on the third full-length album, Formula of Love: O+T=<3, in November 2021. Tracks 11 to 13 are ‘PUSH & PULL’ by Jihyo, Sana and Dahyun, ‘HELLO’ by Nayeon, Momo and Chaeyoung, and ‘1, 3, 2’ by Jeongyeon, Mina and Tzuyu. In Japan, Momo, Sana and Mina work as MISAMO, which released the mini album Masterpiece in July 2023, HAUTE COUTURE in November 2024 and its first full-length album, PLAY, in February 2026.

On the sixth world tour, THIS IS FOR, each member had a solo stage. The nine songs first sung there went onto the tenth-anniversary special album TEN: The Story Goes On: Nayeon’s ‘MEEEEEE’, Jeongyeon’s ‘FIX A DRINK’, Momo’s ‘MOVE LIKE THAT’, Sana’s ‘DECAFFEINATED’, Jihyo’s ‘ATM’, Mina’s ‘STONE COLD’, Dahyun’s ‘CHESS’, Chaeyoung’s ‘IN MY ROOM’ and Tzuyu’s ‘DIVE IN’.

Where to start

The most recent title track is ‘ME+YOU’, released from the same album on 10 October 2025. Its music video carries scenes throughout that pay homage to the performance and video of the debut song ‘Like OOH-AHH’. In July of the same year the group released THIS IS FOR, its fourth full-length album and its first in three years and eight months, and in August it headlined Lollapalooza Chicago in the United States. Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung sang ‘TAKEDOWN (JEONGYEON, JIHYO, CHAEYOUNG)’, the first track on the soundtrack album of the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, and the agency said that this song and ‘Strategy’, from the fourteenth mini album STRATEGY, set new highs for the group on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The song that won Song of the Year at the 2016 MAMA is ‘CHEER UP’, released in the year after the debut. In Japan, the best album #BEST 2015-2025 came out on 26 August 2026.
