How Liv and May Turned Woni's Channel Into a Whole-RESCENE Show
Liv and May were the last RESCENE members to appear on Woni's YouTube channel. Their 12 June 2026 episode reached 4.46 million views in three days and 5.84 million in a week.
What happened
On 12 June 2026 Woni’s YouTube channel, 안녕하세요원이입니다잘부탁드립니다 (‘Hello, I’m Woni, nice to meet you’), published an episode titled ‘저희도 리센느입니다…’ (“We’re RESCENE too…”). Its guests were Liv and May, the two RESCENE members who had not yet appeared on the channel; MyDaily called them the ‘last puzzle piece’ after Woni, Minami and Zena.
The numbers came quickly. By 10 a.m. on 15 June, three days after release, MyDaily reported the episode past 4.46 million views. Geumgang Ilbo, counting at 11 a.m. the same day, put it at 4.48 million — 620,000 more than the 3.86 million recorded by ‘갸루와 거제 2편’, the Woni-and-Minami episode uploaded seven days earlier on 5 June — and already the fourth most-viewed video on the channel. On 20 June MyDaily reported 5.84 million views in a week. On 26 August 2026 the watch page showed 10,715,031 views.
Why is it trending?
By eToday’s own account, how the cast filled up in stages is inference rather than confirmed process. On 27 May the outlet reported, citing a Q&A video by Woni, that RESCENE members appear to work up their own character idea and submit it to the producer in charge or to Woni, with a member said to join the channel once the idea is approved. By then Minami and Zena had appeared, and eToday reported that the remaining two, Liv and May, were said to be working on their characters. Star News dates the channel’s first gyaru video to 6 March and the ‘거제, 야호~!’ episode to 20 March; the 12 June episode is where the last two characters arrived.
The press described those characters in two ways. MyDaily’s 20 June report says Liv and May put forward characters called ‘리트와 매트’ (roughly “Lit and Mat”), and lists the channel’s line-up as Minami’s gyaru ‘거제 야호’ video, Woni as the ‘Geoje girl’, Zena as the ‘Silla princess’ with dialect content and now the pair — adding that with each member holding a distinct character, the whole of RESCENE had come to the centre of attention. Star News, on 3 July, described the two as a ‘Pat & Mat’-style double act who envy Woni and Minami, and counted their content alongside the Woni-and-Zena dialect episode in Seongsu-dong and the Minami gyaru videos as the uploads that drew very high view counts.
The channel’s own numbers frame the episode. eToday’s timeline runs 100,000 subscribers on 4 May (about three months after opening), 200,000 on 16 May, 300,000 on 24 May and 400,000 on 26 May — 300,000 about 110 days after launch, then 400,000 two days later. Eight days after the Liv-and-May episode, on 20 June, the channel crossed one million subscribers, and MyDaily put its cumulative views past 155 million the same day, with the 19 June upload “진짜 ‘야호’ 하는지 물어봤습니다” passing 2.45 million views within a day. By 2 July, Star News reported 1.2 million subscribers, videos averaging four to five million views and a peak of eight million.
eToday’s reading of the pattern, written before the episode existed, is the one the numbers bear out: the channel’s character-based variety had become a route for re-introducing RESCENE as a team, with the group’s name reaching people through a member’s personal content rather than official music activities or the group channel. The same report noted that Geoje appointed RESCENE as ambassadors on 22 May; Star News later listed Suwon (Liv), Gyeongju (Zena) and Goyang (May) as following. In the Star News interview, May said she first sensed a response when the group charted on music sites, and Liv said the company had told the members they were climbing the chart.
