Jang Wonyoung is a vocalist of IVE, the six-member girl group under STARSHIP Entertainment. She debuted first with IZ*ONE on 29 October 2018, was introduced as IVE's third member in November 2021 and debuted again on 1 December 2021.

The PROFILE page of IVE’s official site gives the agency as Starship Entertainment and the debut date as 1 December 2021, and lists Jang Wonyoung with her birth date, 31 August 2004. The group’s Japanese official site, run by AMUSE Inc., lists her position as vocalist.
IVE was not her first group. Seoul Shinmun reported that IZ*ONE debuted on 29 October 2018 with a showcase for the first album COLOR*IZ at the Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, performing the debut title track ‘La Vie en Rose’ for the first time, and the same report names Jang Wonyoung among the twelve members.
Seoul Economic Daily reported on 5 November 2021 that “Wonyoung, formerly of the group IZ*ONE, has joined IVE, STARSHIP Entertainment’s new girl group”, adding that she was born in 2004 and would take the vocal position. The same article noted that she had been appointed the 37th host of KBS 2TV’s Music Bank. Three members — An Yu-jin, Gaeul and Jang Wonyoung — had been revealed at that point.
Jang Wonyoung’s name runs through IVE’s lyric credits. The album information on Bugs puts it beside other lyricists on ‘ATTITUDE’, the title track of IVE EMPATHY of 3 February 2025, and on ‘XOXZ’, the title track of IVE SECRET of 25 August the same year.
On REVIVE+ there are two. She was one of four lyricists on the pre-release title track ‘BANG BANG’, and on the solo track ‘8’ her name stands alone. News1, reporting the pre-release on 8 February 2026, wrote that she had taken lyric credits on the title tracks and B-sides of earlier records as well. In the Circle Chart digital chart for week 9 of 2026, ‘8’ entered at number 17.
At the showcase for the record at the Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on 23 February 2026, she introduced ‘8’ in words Sports Donga carried: “It is a song that adds a heavy, tense mood inside a cold, minimal sound. I hope people listen to it when they want to feel good.”
Award-show hosting has run since the year after her debut. Star News reported on 19 May 2026 that she had been named a host of the Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2026), held at the Kaohsiung National Stadium in Taiwan on 5 and 6 December, and that this was the sixth consecutive year since she first hosted in Korea in 2021.
There is an advertising record too. Munhwa Ilbo and Ilgan Sports reported on 1 September 2026 that she had won the grand prize in the female advertising model category of the 2026 Brand of the Year Awards for the second year running. The award was decided by a consumer vote held from 29 June to 12 July.
Money Today reported on 11 February 2026 that Jang Wonyoung had donated 200 million won to Severance Hospital to support the treatment of paediatric and adolescent patients. The hospital said the money would be split evenly between Severance Children’s Hospital and the paediatrics department of Gangnam Severance Hospital.
That summer she stood on a baseball field. Edaily reported on 16 July 2026, citing STARSHIP Entertainment, that IVE had received an official invitation from the New York Mets, and on 26 July local time Jang Wonyoung took the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch before the Mets’ game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Citi Field in New York.
One of the autumn 2026 dates is an exhibition. The Korea Economic Daily reported on 2 September that the ‘AN-YOUNG’ exhibition by An Yu-jin and Jang Wonyoung runs from 5 to 27 September at The Seoullitium in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
