The two songs Jang Wonyoung wrote on: 'BANG BANG' and the solo track '8'
IVE's Jang Wonyoung is credited on the lyrics of two songs on the second album REVIVE+. She is one of four writers on 'BANG BANG', the double title track released first on 9 February 2026, and the only name on the lyric credit of the solo track '8' on the album that followed on 23 February.
Jang Wonyoung of IVE is credited on the lyrics of two songs from the second full-length album REVIVE+. One is ‘BANG BANG’, a double title track released two weeks ahead of the album; the other is ‘8’, her own solo track near the end of it.
The lyric credit on the pre-release ‘BANG BANG’
News1 reported on 8 February 2026 that IVE would release ‘BANG BANG’, the pre-release track from the second full-length album REVIVE+, at 6 p.m. KST the next day, and that Jang Wonyoung had taken part in writing the lyrics. The same report described the song as built on EDM and electronic sound with a western-swing intro, carrying a message about choosing for yourself and making your own way rather than bending to other people’s looks or rumours.
The album information on Bugs lists four names on the lyric credit of ‘BANG BANG’, hers among them. According to News1 the song brought in the lyricist who has written IVE’s debut and title tracks from the start, along with writers from the group’s earlier albums. STARSHIP, the label’s official channel, posted the music video on the release day, 9 February.
‘8’, written alone
The last six tracks of REVIVE+ are solo songs, one for each of the six members, and Jang Wonyoung’s ‘8’ is one of them. Bugs’ track information lists her as the only name on its lyric credit. The music is by Simon Klose, Arineh Karimi and MLITE, and Simon Klose arranged it.
According to Sports Donga, IVE held a media showcase for the release at 2 p.m. on 23 February 2026 at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, where Jang Wonyoung described ‘8’ this way: “It is a song that adds a heavy, tense mood inside a cold, minimal sound. I hope people listen to it when they want to feel lifted.” The same report said part of the solo tracks had been played earlier, in October 2025, at the second world tour SHOW WHAT I AM at KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Not the first time
News1 wrote that Jang Wonyoung has steadily been credited on IVE’s lyrics, on title tracks such as ‘ATTITUDE’ and ‘XOXZ’ and on B-sides such as ‘OTT’ and ‘Blue Heart’. The two songs on REVIVE+ continue that list.
Herald Business reported on 12 February 2026 that IVE performed ‘BANG BANG’ for the first time on Mnet’s M Countdown, and wrote that Jang Wonyoung’s part in the lyrics had sharpened the song’s message. The same report said ‘BANG BANG’ reached number one on YouTube’s domestic trending music chart and on its domestic daily music video chart right after release, and settled in the upper reaches of Melon TOP100 and other major domestic streaming charts.
